One Piece has been one of the most prominent and successful animes of all time, being a part of the big three it prominently specializes in world-building. The manga of this anime has been ongoing since 1997. The creator of the series, Eiichiro Oda, a highly respected manga artist within the industry has not even revealed the best part yet, the one piece, a treasure highly sought after in the anime.
Time after time it kept getting better and better and we don’t how he does it, but people are completely amazed that he has the talent to not only write a manga continuing for over 25 years but make it feel as though just now in 2023, it is reaching its peak. One Piece fans are overjoyed with the live-action anime being announced by Netflix and are looking forward to it.
One Piece Live-Action Has the Largest Budget per Episode
According to multiple reports made, the One Piece live-action series will have a staggering budget of $18 million per episode for 8 episodes. Despite predictions filled with negative reviews and comments from the fans, the trailer of the show surprisingly had positive response. The fans are eagerly waiting for its release as Netflix is working on its highest-budget production ever. In comparison to other shows, this live-action will not fall back on the budget aspect, as big productions such as The Mandalorian and Game of Thrones had a production budget of $15 million. Although the budget might not determine the quality of the show, its storyline is on par with those of the top order.

The show has been confirmed for at least one season and apart from each episode costing $18 million, the show as a whole will have a budget of around $150 million, but it has not been officially confirmed. An official from the project has hinted that the series will have a budget equal to that of an MCU movie. There have been multiple anime adaptations made in the past and none of them have been able to rack up positive responses from its viewers and critic reviewers, but this time around things might be different. With only a couple of months left until its premiere, there is an uproar among the fans on multiple social media platforms.
Will It Be Another Anime Live-Action Failure?
There have been previous live-action adaptations of several animes and video games and many a time they failed to attract popular opinion. One of the most recent ones is an anime, Cowboy Bebop, which was adapted by Netflix and failed miserably. So it comes as no doubt that people would question Netflix’s decision to start the production of another one of those, moreover, with a humongous budget. Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop failed to retain the source material of the anime and fans particularly did not like it, thus came an end to the 10 episodes long live-action adaptation.
