Jamie Lee Curtis is obsessed with One Piece

Curtis previously stated her wish to portray Nico Robin at a San Diego Comic-Con panel in 2021, but she now acknowledges that their age difference would make playing Robin difficult.

“I’m not gonna get to play Robin, I’m a little old now. But there’s that old crone lady, not Nico Robin, Kureha. Maybe I can be Kureha, she wears those low bellbottoms, She’s looking a little nasty, but she has that long stringy grey hair. My daughter Ruby said that that would be what I would play.”

She even shared a post on Instagram with the caption “Hey @netflix @onepiecenetflix The Internet has spoken and mommy needs a job. #curtisforkureha”

Emily Rudd wants Jamie Lee Curtis to be Dr. Kureha

Dr. Kureha is a retired doctor who works on Drum Island. Some people refer to her as a “witch.” She is Tony Tony Chopper’s mentor and adopted mother, taking him in after Hiriluk died. She is also the Isshi-100’s leader. Her role is of great importance as she helps the Straw Hat Pirates in the Drum Island arc.

In October last year, Curtis’ daughter Ruby Guest appeared on the One Piece Podcast and addressed:

“My mom loves Kureha. I would be 100 percent for it and honestly, since Netflix is doing the live-action adaptation, I would highly recommend her to pull some strings to see if she can. I know my mom is 100 percent for it.”

Not only this, Nami actor Emily Rudd has also expressed her wish to see Jamie Lee Curtis as Dr. Kureha. In an Instagram story recently, when asked by a fan who would she wish to see in the One Piece live-action, she replied by tagging Jamie Lee Curtis and a picture of Dr. Kureha.
