In a recent interview with People, Robert Downey Jr. talked about working with his two younger children on Downey’s Dream Cars and revealed that he had a ‘blast.’ Talking about his son, Exton Elias in the interview, he said,
“My wife [Susan Downey] has raised him not to be a ham. He’s not, like, putting together his audition tapes or anything. He’s just a natural extrovert when he wants to be. There’s been a couple times when … he’s wanted to participate in something I was doing. And when I ran this one by him, he said, ‘Yeah, sure.’ And then he came in and absolutely wiped the floor with me.”
RDJ also talked about his daughter appearing in the series and said, she is “a little different, even though she is off the charts in the series, too.”
The Ironman actor got trolled by his son, Exton Elias on Downey’s Dream Cars
In one of the clips from the trailer of Downey’s Dream Cars, we see Robert Downey Jr. having lunch with his son and explaining some car terminology to him using the food on the table. He said, “This is a clue you’ll never guess.” However, to the actor’s surprise, his son is actually way smarter and instantly replies, “It’s a biodiesel conversion“. The Sherlock Holmes actor is left completely stumped by the quickness of his son’s response and says, “That is correct.”
While at the same lunch table, RDJ is bragging to his son about his skills as a car expert and says, “I am what they call a…I am a ‘gearhead’, I am a ‘grease monkey’.” Exton Elias takes this opportunity to troll his father, he turns to the camera and says, “Are we sure he’s the right guy to be hosting this show?”
Downey’s Dream Cars central plot will have a team of experts who will restore 6 cars from Robert Downey Jr.’s own car collection to make them more eco-friendly while retaining their engine power and classic designs.
Downey’s Dream Cars is all set to be released on HBO Max on June 22.
