Jonathan Majors is a rising star in the entertainment industry with several accolades and a long list of upcoming projects. Majors is widely known for his ability to take his characters in unexpected directions, injecting them with his unique style and energy. During an interview with The Guardian, the actor opened up about his journey in Hollywood so far.
Jonathan Majors Describes Himself As An Introvert
During the interview, the actor was asked whether he was ready for all the fame that was coming his way. He responded by reminiscing about all the private activities he’s managed to fit in since waking up next to his daughter in the early morning.
“That’s where the 4 am wake-ups come in,” he says. “There’s no glory in being an introvert. This isn’t me offering a praise song to the introvert. But you are what you are… My temperament is my temperament. I’m slow to anxiety, but I’m also slow to excitement and I believe those things go hand-in-hand. I may be wrong, but I know that, for me, if I start getting excited, I also start getting anxious. And at this level, with these stakes, there’s really no time for that.”
Jonathan Majors is slowly trying to fill the shoes of Josh Brolin, who played the supervillain in the MCU. The actor will be seen as the time-manipulating warlord Kang the Conqueror in upcoming Marvel films following the recent Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania. The actor will eventually take the lead in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, slated for a 2025 release.
Jonathan Majors Journey Through The Years
At 16, Majors found himself homeless, sleeping in a car, and feeling lost. He had stormed out of his house after an argument, but as time passed and danger loomed, his bravado faded. It was then that he fixed his sights on becoming an actor. He channeled the complex emotions he experienced into his work.
Majors’ career officially kicked off with the TV drama When We Rise, which explored the gay rights movement. The actor then landed a role in Spike Lee’s 2020 war movie Da 5 Bloods, where he was selected without a formal audition. The director showed him a short story about US border migrants, which moved the actor into tears like a child.
In his most recent film, Creed III, Majors played the role of a 30-year-old boxer who was incarcerated as a teenager. The film’s director of photography managed to capture Majors’ every twitch and imperfection, showcasing the character’s inner turmoil and the lost boy within an outwardly composed man.
