Sparking controversies and gossip regarding their relationship and failed marriage, the Hollywood couple once made headlines for their alleged infidelity. Rumors suggested that the duo engaged in a romantic affair while Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston.
However, despite fuming gossip, Angelina Jolie repeatedly denied hooking up with Brad Pitt while he was still married to Jennifer Aniston. Giving examples of her childhood family troubles, Jolie claimed she would never ruin a marriage. But despite all attempts of proving her innocence, Aniston begged to disagree with the Maleficent actress.
Angelina Jolie Addressed Infidelity Allegations
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt started dating in 2005, after meeting on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. While Pitt was still married to his FRIENDS co-star Jennifer Aniston, the actor got romantically involved with Jolie. However, rumors of Brangelina didn’t make it to the cover page until Pitt and Aniston finalized their divorce in the fall of 2005.
Further, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston’s divorce news quite obviously sparked rumors of unfaithfulness on Pitt’s end. And within a few months, even Angelina Jolie was dragged to the dirt as people started calling her a home wrecker. While the Fight Club actor never commented on the speculations, Jolie addressed them and refused to be framed as a third person in a marriage.
“To be intimate with a married man, when my own father cheated on my mother, is not something I could forgive. I could not, could not look at myself in the mirror if I did that.” Angelina Jolie claimed.
Denying accusations of ruining Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt’s marriage, Jolie admitted that she would never hook up with a married man. Recalling her childhood days when she witnessed her mother being miserable after her father cheated on her, the actress claimed she would never do that to her worst enemy, let alone Jennifer Aniston.
Evidence Stand Against Angelina Jolie’s Claims
While Angelina Jolie might blatantly deny ruining Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt’s marriage, and insist on never hooking up with a married man, evidences claim otherwise. Even Aniston would beg to disagree with the actress after she was left with no choice but to finalize her divorce in October 2005.
After Angelina Jolie tried proving her innocence, eyewitnesses came out to reveal the truth. Jolie’s former bodyguard Mark Behar revealed how he witnessed the actress kissing Pitt on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Thus, considering Behar’s word of mouth, Jolie did get romantically involved with Brad Pitt, while he was still married.
However, so much to their relationship, the duo failed to stay together despite their uncountable attempts at keeping their marriage stable. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt thus filed for divorce in 2016, after years of estranged relationship. Further, Pitt made headlines for his renewed fondness for his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.
