“I’ve gone back several times. The only thing that really stuck with me the first time I went back was walking through the house that I grew up in, and everything seemed so small. It was such a bizarre feeling. I was like, ‘My mother made me sleep in a closet.'”
She found it rather amazing how different things were. Everything seemed smaller and very peculiar, as if from an outsider’s perspective. She could not believe how small her house really was and even compared her room to a closet, joking about how her mother made her sleep in the closet. After years of hard work, she enjoys a life of comfort and luxury, starring in some of the biggest movies and franchises. Charlize Theron Brought Out Her Best To Do Monster
Monster got Charlize Theron her first-ever Oscar. The actress was initially not that keen on taking on the movie because she did not think herself to be fit for it. However, Patty Jenkins thought otherwise. She believed that Theron was perfect and ultimately convinced her to play Aileen Wuornos.
Both of them worked really hard to understand her character and they even went on a road trip to Florida so they could better relate to the life they were trying to show. They even met Wuornos’ friends to craft the movie in the best way possible. This not only made Jenkins’ debut movie a massive hit but also got Theron an Oscar for Best Actress.
