Sporting the iconic ponytail, Steven Seagal took over the action genre with his martial art techniques. With films like Under Siege and Hard to Kill, the actor quickly became the face of the genre. However, Steven Seagal has often found himself in the middle of controversies that paint him in a bad light.
The actor has been accused of s*xual harassment by a few women including Lisa Guerrero and Jenny McCarthy. One of these women is the Commando actress, Rae Dawn Chong who also discovered our favorite Guardian Chris Pratt while he was working as a waiter. Rae Dawn Chong came forward in 2017 when she opened up about the spine-chilling encounter she allegedly had with Steven Seagal in his hotel room.
Rae Dawn Chong Recalls Alleged Encounter with Steven Seagal
In an interview with The Wrap, Rae Dawn Chong opened up about how her agency, CAA, sent her to an evening meeting with Steven Seagal at the actor’s hotel. While the location and time seemed rather odd, Chong agreed. After reaching the hotel, she was asked to meet Seagal in his room. She stated, “9:30 p.m. at the Bel Air Hotel – I was shocked…I knew then that I was being pimped by the agency.”
The actress continued that she while she initially refused to enter the hotel room, she knocked on the door only to find Seagal in his bathrobe. What she said happened next is absolutely shocking.
“I stood outside the open door mortified that I was told to go to this meeting. My heart broke because my agency had obviously pimped me out to this creep. [He] walked across his room and sat in a chair and manspread so I could see his junk. But he casually covered back up as if it was a mistake.”
As if this wasn’t enough, Chong stated that the Above the Law actor then asked to feel her silk blouse. She told him that he knew what silk feels like and walked out of the room. The Soul Man actress stated, “I never let him touch me. And to be honest…I would have f**king killed him.” Chong told The Wrap that she cried when she reached her home after what the agency had done to her. She then quit CAA after the incident.
Steven Seagal Allegedly Left Obscene Messages
While Chong had never met Seagal before the day at the Bel-Air hotel, the actress claims that he left obscene messages on her message machine years after the incident. She again stated just how betrayed she felt by her agents.
“For years Steven Seagal would leave s*x messages on my message machine. I had never met him before that night and never spoke to him again but for some reason he decided he could do this. What burned me most was the agents. They got away with this and I was burned by them. I could not tell on them — who would I tell?”
Neither Seagal nor CAA has addressed Chong’s allegations. In fact, when the actor was questioned about all of the claims against him, he simply walked out of a live interview. However, he had denied any such claims prior to the interview.
