Arnold Schwarzenegger reveals his 80% vegan diet
Arnold Schwarzenegger, the fitness star, revealed in his newsletter that he left meat a few years ago. He shared that he has decided to eat 80% plant-based foods, which has impressively reduced his cholesterol levels. However, he has not given up muscle-building, protein-rich food items.
Conan the Destroyer shared in an episode of his podcast named Arnold’s Pump Club about his most preferred protein sources.
“For protein, my staples are eggs, salmon, and chicken. But I have more and more veggie burgers with lentils and beans. I also use my Ladder Plan protein powder, powered by pea protein.”
Schwarzenegger had previously shared his favorite protein shake recipe in an interview with Men’s Health. It consists of protein powder, cherry juice, almond milk, a banana, and a raw, unpeeled egg. He told Insider’s Gabby Landsverk that he likes to include schnapps or tequila in his shakes.
Arnold Schwarzenegger opens up on his favorite cheat meals
Jingle All the Way fame shared that he eats similar meals every day with the protein intake divided between breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Schwarzenegger said on the podcast,
“In the morning after my workout, I usually have oatmeal with Greek yogurt or granola. For lunch, I always have a salad, sometimes with a plant-based burger or maybe salmon or chicken. Other times, it’s with a scramble or omelette. For dinner, I always have soup. I like to eat light for my last meal.”
Schwarzenegger also revealed recipe of his favorite veggie soup recipe in the newsletter, which includes chickpeas, low-fat yogurt, broth, olive oil, and herbs.
Schwarzenegger also revealed on the Pump Club podcast that his diet is boring, so sometimes he eats a big meal, however, it does not affect his health in a significant way. Regarding his cheat meal, Schwarzenegger shared that he opts for Austrian wiener schnitzel, a steak, or a hamburger. He also shared that he grills fantastic New York Strips.
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s debut OTT show Fubar was released on Netflix recently, and it is getting a good response from viewers.
The actor will probably be seen in a Marvel project shortly.
