With a career spanning decades, Samuel L. Jackson has become one of the great actors in Hollywood. The actor owns several characters and on-screen performances, which have made him one of the iconic actors in the industry. While he’s seen in different avatars in different movies over the years, fans are always delighted by his presence on-screen. However, it is hardly seen that the actor is mistaken for someone else.
Something similar happened with the Marvel star during his interview with KTLA Morning News. And he was certainly not happy and made sure to call the interviewer out for not being able to differentiate between him and other black actors in Hollywood, despite being an entertainment reporter.
Reporter Mistakes Samuel L. Jackson For Laurence Fishburne
Laurence Fishburne and Samuel L. Jackson are some of the biggest Hollywood actors of the time. They have captivated the audience with their brilliant performances over the years. However, it would be a surprise if someone seems confused between the two actors.
However, that was not the case for journalist Sam Rubin, and the Avengers actor made sure to make him realize his mistake. During an interview with Rubin on KTLA Morning News, the reporter asked him about his Super Bowl commercial that was released at the time. To his surprise, Jackson did not feature in a Super Bowl commercial that year.
The Pulp Fiction actor was left stunned after he realized that the journalist mistook him for Laurence Fishburne, as he was the one featured in a Super Bowl commercial that year. And Sam Rubin was clearly embarrassed when the 74-year-old actor pointed out his mistake.
Samuel L. Jackson Points Out the Reporter’s Mistake
As he realized that Sam Rubin had confused him with the John Wick star Laurence Fishburne, Samuel L. Jackson called him out, saying, “Oh, hell no! Really?” He was surprised that something like this was even possible and went on to explain to him about his fellow black Hollywood stars.
“I’m the other guy, the other one. There’s more than one Black guy doing a commercial. I’m the “what’s in your wallet?” Black guy. He’s the car Black guy. Morgan Freeman is the other credit card Black guy.”
This led to an awkward and embarrassing moment for the interviewer, as the Glass actor questioned, “You’re an entertainment reporter?” He clowned him out for not being able to tell the difference between him and Laurence Fishburne, leading Rubin to slap himself on camera and accept his mistake.
