One of the biggest stars of Hollywood, Will Smith, is also a loving husband and a caring father. The actor knew very early in his life about the importance of loyalty. In a 1996 interview with Movieline magazine, he shared about a childhood incident where he was robbed at knife-point. However, his sister came to his rescue with a baseball bat and helped him search for the attackers.

Will Smith recalled,

“We never found the guys, but that type of love and commitment is what I search for. My mother and my grandmother? That same kind of unconditional love. All women have organs. But that’s not what excites me about being in a relationship with women. That’s not what makes me feel good.

What I want to know is, ‘Are you gonna grab a bat when someone steals my money?’ Now Miss Jada’s so little, she might need two bats. But she’s more than happy to go grab ’em. Outside of our love relationship, she’s my best friend, too.”

It seems Will Smith got the loyalty that he was seeking with his wife Jada Pinkett Smith. They are among the strongest going couples in the industry and never left each other’s side over decades.

Will Smith was initially married to Sheree Zampino from 1992 to 1995. The couple shares a son, Trey Smith. In 1994 Smith met Jada Pinkett Smith when she auditioned for the role of his girlfriend in the show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. After dating for some time, the actors tied the knot in 1997. They became parents of a boy Jaden Smith in 1998 and a daughter Willow Smith in 2000.

Smith had shared about his bond with Pinkett Smith on the podcast Rap Radar,

“We don’t even say we’re married anymore. We refer to ourselves as ‘life partners,’ where you get into that space where you realize you are literally with somebody for the rest of your life. There’s no deal breakers. There’s nothing she could do—ever—nothing that would break our relationship. She has my support till death, and it feels so good to get to that space.”

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are married for 26 years now.
