Firmning her position in the industry in a mere 10 years of her career, Brown also bagged Godzilla‘s $1.3B franchise in 2019, all because the director of Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) got a bit ‘too used to seeing her face’.

An up-and-coming actress with no intention to stop, Millie Bobby Brown managed to land a role in the sequel to the 2014 version of Godzilla, Godzilla: King of Monsters (2019). As per reports, the Stranger Things actress was cast in the movie before officially getting a role in it as her face was used for the pre-visualization work on the film. The director of the movie, Michael Dougherty explained the reason behind casting Brown in it, saying,

“Millie’s great. I was a huge fan of the show [Stranger Things] and my pre-viz animators and I used her face as a reference, as a model for the pre-viz for the movie before we ever cast her. We got so used to seeing her face that we just kind of said, “Well…why don’t we make her the offer?” And we had a breakfast here at The London, years ago, and we actually spent more time talking about our mutual love of animals and pet reptiles and just a love of nature that I think she clicked with the themes of the film.”

While Dougherty insists that it was the fact that he got too used to seeing Millie Bobby Brown’s face that led him to cast the actress in the movie, rumors have been popping up claiming that casting the Stranger Things actress in the film just might have been the director’s plan all along.

Millie Bobby Brown’s Character in Godzilla: King of Monsters

Madison Russell and Dr. Emma are said to be Mothra’s fairies in Godzilla: King of Monsters

Even though Millie Bobby Brown is said to have been cast in Godzilla: King of Monsters by chance, the probability of that being true seems almost unlikely, judging by how her character was a fairly new face in the franchise. As it turns out, the Teen Choice Award winner’s character of Madison Russell didn’t appear in any Godzilla movie before and was newly introduced in the franchise.

Brown’s character is said to be one of Mothra’s fairies, who is a monster that used to communicate with mankind with the help of twin fairies. In the movie as well, both Russell and her mother, Dr. Emma, seem to connect with Mothra. However, to determine if Millie Bobby Brown’s character is as important as expected, fans will have to wait and see for any possible sequels of Godzilla: King of Monsters.
