But with the recent announcement from the Xbox Boss, Brad Smith, fans are convinced that Xbox is fighting to bring popular gaming titles to other platforms. And fans have commended the billion-dollar company’s decision of bringing the future Call of Duty games to Nintendo platforms.
Upcoming Call of Duty entries might be available on Nintendo platforms
Although Microsoft initially garnered a lot of backlash for its decision to acquire Activision blizzard, which is known for making some iconic games, including World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and Call of Duty. Many thought it was Microsoft’s way of cutting down its competition.
But with the recent announcement, they have cleared all these claims after revealing their 10-year-long deal with Nintendo. They stated that upcoming Call of Duty titles will hit both Xbox and Nintendo consoles on the same day for the entire tenure of their deal. Brad Smith stated,
We’ve now signed a binding 10-year contract to bring Xbox games to Nintendo’s gamers. This is just part of our commitment to bring Xbox games and Activision titles like Call of Duty to more players on more platforms.
Fans have now come forward to acknowledge Xbox’s step towards making popular titles available to other platforms in contrast to Sony, who is known for keeping their frontline titles exclusive to PlayStation. And the announcement has also arrived at the perfect timing just before the final hearing of Microsoft with the EU’s European Commission, where they will argue to finalize their deal with Activision Blizzard.
Brad Smith confirms that more popular titles will be available on other platforms
Although it wasn’t the first instance when Xbox tried to reach out to other platforms for initiating similar deals. As initially after announcing their decision to acquire Activision Blizzard, they reached out to Sony to make a multiyear deal, allowing Call of Duty titles to release on PlayStation.
And the Xbox boss has clarified that it is just the beginning of their commitment to bring popular titles like Call of Duty to every other gaming platform. And fans have commended Microsoft for their initiation, as many would be able to enjoy their favorite games from their suitable platform.
Although the deal hasn’t kicked off, as Microsoft is still trying to finalize their deal with Activision Blizzard. But according to experts, the deal may launch in early 2024, and then fans will be able to enjoy the upcoming Call of Duty entries on their Nintendo platforms.
