The glamorous scene of the Hollywood industry is filled with some of the most beautiful people on the planet, and there is no shortage of bombshell divas in that space. One of these famous female industry superstars happens to be the devastatingly gorgeous Megan Fox. Known for being a heartthrob among the female talent that Hollywood has to offer, she has shown herself as being more than capable of holding her own.

And with so many films under her belt, it seemed like it will be smooth sailing for her career for the rest of her life from there. But surprisingly, this prediction was proved wrong when she consistently started to deliver some of the worst movies of her career, and this started just after she decided to ditch the franchise that could’ve taken her career to newer heights in the industry. This decision was taken for her role as Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider series, and she had a ridiculous reason for it too.

Having made a name for herself by portraying the character of Mikaela Banes in the first two installments of the Transformers franchise, Megan Fox had become a beloved name in the industry for her beautiful performance and her incredibly good looks. Thus, when she opted out of the future films of Michael Bay’s beloved franchise, many thought she would be approached by many franchises that would skyrocket her career to even greater heights the opportunity did come, but she decided to not take it for just one reason.

After her departure from Transformers, the star was offered to play the role of Lara Croft in the reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise, which could’ve been the next big highlight of her career, but she turned it down because she didn’t want her image to become of “Poor man’s Angelina Jolie.”  The statement stems from the fact that before the reboot of the franchise, Angelina Jolie played the role of Lara Croft in the movies released in the 2000s.

Since the rise of the Lara Croft Tomb Raider video game series in the late 90s and early 2000s, the craze for the character was skyrocketing, which pushed Hollywood to make a live-action adaptation of the series with Jolie. The 2 films of the franchise were well-received by the audience and the Maleficent actor was praised for her performance. Then, when Fox was given the role of the character, she said that taking the character will definitely put her in Jolie’s shadow, which would go against her wish to do something of her own for her own legacy.

Thus, she missed the opportunity to take the role of the bada*s female character, which was given to Alicia Vikander in 2018’s Tomb Raider reboot, and Fox’s career hit a stall.

Will The Tomb Raider Series Return?

With the release of the new Shadow of the Tomb Raider in the superhit video game series, the popularity of the character has surged once again, and now Amazon seems to want to capitalize on the opportunity, which has pushed them to create an entire universe of from the franchise. Thus, the company has decided to take it one step further and dive into every form of pop culture media like a live-action film, a web series for Prime Video, and a video game to encompass the universe.
