MCU has released 23 mega movies over the last 12 years without any breaks. After the events of “Avengers: Endgame”, it was supposed to take off with Phase 4 in 2020. But Hollywood was one of the industries that were miserably affected by the pandemic. While some studios released their films on OTT platforms, MCU pushed back the release dates. But it has now picked up its speed and is compensating for the break with back to back mind-blowing releases on Disney+. Phase 4 has kick-started with “WandaVision”, followed by “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier”, which have charged up the Marvel fans’ spirits again. It is safe to say that the franchise has resumed dropping much-awaited series and movies on the screen. The wait is finally over and there are 13 MCU movies set to release after The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
Black Widow – 9 July 2021
After a year-long wait, “Black Widow” will finally arrive on screens on 9th July 2021. As Natasha Romanoff travels home, we will get to explore her unknown roots and past. The big bad in her first standalone film will be Taskmaster who is gifted with photographic reflexes, i.e., the ability to imitate the combat moves of one’s rivals.
Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings- 3rd September 2021
Shang-Chi will be the first Marvel film to bring an Asian superhero on the screen. The titular character who is the master of martial arts and many weapons-based styles has to face the infamous terrorist organization, The Ten Rings.
The Eternals- 5th November 2021
Following the events of “Avengers: Endgame”, MCU is going to introduce a new franchise of superheroes for Phase 4. These heroes belong to a different race called the Eternals who are immortal and have been in the universe for over 1000 years. It will star Kit Harington, Angelina Jolie, Kunal Nanjiani, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, and more A-list actors.
Spider-Man: No Way Home– 17th December 2021
The post-credits of “Spider-Man: Far From Home” left us on a major cliffhanger. Even after “dying”, Mysterio won his battle against Spidey by revealing his identity to the world. The third instalment of the Spider-Man franchise will keep Spidey on the run and introduce the Spiderverse.
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness- 25th March 2022
The mind-blowing finale of WandaVision has left fans counting days until the release of “Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness”. We can’t wait to discover what MCU holds in store for multiverses and magic. The film will dive further into the mystery of the multiverse and the Scarlet Witch’s abilities.
Thor: Love and Thunder- 6th May 2022
One of the most anticipated MCU films is “Thor: Love and Thunder”. While the fan-favourite Chris Hemsworth will revive his role as Thor, we will also see Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster take the mantle of The Mighty Thor. This upcoming film has stirred a lot of expectations and conversations considering the fabulous casting of Hollywood stars- from Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman to Christian Bale and Tessa Thompson.
Black Panther 2- 8th July 2022
After the massive success of the first Black Panther movie, fans can’t wait for the second instalment to hit the theatres. Sadly, we won’t see Chadwick Boseman in “Black Panther 2”. In fact, Marvel has announced that they won’t be recasting T’Challa in Boseman’s honour. The story will move forward with other characters, some of whom were in the first part as well. It will be helmed by Ryan Coogler who will reportedly begin the productions from June 2021.
Captain Marvel 2 – 11th November 2022
Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel is returning for her earth audience on 11th November 2022. Unlike the first part, this film will take place in the present time. Much hasn’t been shared on the plot, but the story is said to be linked to the Disney+ series on Ms Marvel.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania- 2022
Ant-Man 3 will feature a grown-up Cassie, played by Kathryn Newton. The goofy Paul Rudd and the badass Evangeline Lily are also returning as the famous duo Ant-Man and the Wasp. Things are about to get more adventurous and dangerous, as this part will explore the quantum realm.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – 2023
Our goofy and hilarious superheroes were originally supposed to start Phase 4 of the MCU. But the shooting got affected after James Gunn was fired for his offensive tweets. Protests from fans and the GOTG stars pushed MCU to give the director a second chance for redemption. However, this gap earned Gunn more Hollywood projects which further delayed the productions of Vol 3.
Fantastic 4
Ever since the announcement of “Fantastic 4” was made, none of us has stopped talking about them. Numerous studios have tried and failed tragically to make good use of Fantastic 4. But now that the rights are back to Marvel, we hope that the heroes will finally get justice.
Blade
Out of all the characters that we were expecting to show up in Phase 4, Blade wasn’t one of them. Fans were super enthused when Marvel announced the revamping of the classic hero. Instead of the iconic Wesley Snipes, the titular character will be played by the talented Mahershala Ali.
Deadpool 3
Deadpool is the only one from 20th Century Fox’s X-Men Universe whom The House of Mouse has kept under its wing. We can’t control our excitement wondering what kind of bizarre craziness Ryan Reynolds will bring under the MCU banner. However, Marvel Studios hasn’t revealed much about the movie yet.
