The topic of the James Bond movies has been at the forefront of the media for quite some time now. The question that arises the most is who will be playing the next James Bond. While many contenders have been put forth, the one that is most anticipated and wanted is Man of Steel star, Henry Cavil.
While Daniel Craig hasn’t officially said anything about this, he seems to have revealed quite a bit about what it was like for him to be James Bond. Was Craig considering not coming back for No Time To Die?
What Does Daniel Craig Have to Say About His James Bond?
During a recent interview, Daniel Craig revealed his feelings towards his iconic character. The star talked about how when he started playing 007, he tried to maintain consistency with his character. But this consistency can come off as quite ill-humored.
“There’s a consistency which I wanted to put into it. Maybe I’ll be remembered as the Grumpy Bond,” he cracked. “I don’t know. That’s just my Bond and I have to face up to it, that has been my Bond. But I’m quite satisfied with that.”
The star joked about how he can go down in history as the Grumpiest bond out of the lot. He doesn’t mind it being so and is quite satisfied by his character and wouldn’t want to do it any other way.
Daniel Craig Got Injured While Filming Spectre
Daniel Craig took five years off between Spectre and No Time To Die, the last two Bond films. While there have been many speculations as to why, Craig revealed that the main reason for this was that he had sustained quite a few injuries during the filming of Spectre. His body was put through a lot. So much so that the star almost considered quitting the franchise altogether.
“I was never going to do one again,” he said. “I was like, ‘Is this work really genuinely worth this, to go through this, this whole thing?’ And I didn’t feel… I felt physically really low. So the prospect of doing another movie was just like, it was off the cards. And that’s why it has been five years.”
He wondered if a role was worth this much physical stress to his body. He was so worn out physically that he had been aversive to the idea of doing another Bond movie for five years until he finally agreed.
