Matt Damon has worked in some of the most iconic movies but none shine as bright as Jason Bourne does. Emma Watson too has an iconic role which she is best known for. Although there is no comparison between the two stars, one actor ties them together. The actors have been rising through Hollywood one project after another and nothing is stopping the talented beings either.
Although Watson has been known for her incredible acting, one movie, in particular, lingers in her filmography as her worst film ever. Despite the interesting concept and star power that the film had, it barely lived up to the fans’ expectations. It did so horribly that even Tom Hanks and Bill Paxton being in the film could not save it either.
Emma Watson Would Have Avoided Her Worst Movie Had It Not Been For Matt Damon
Emma Watson’s The Circle was a film that could not be saved despite its potential plot and massive star power. The cast included Tom Hanks, Karen Gillan, Bill Paxton, and John Boyega. Having so much talent in one room could have easily benefitted the film. However, it only did the opposite. Incidentally enough, Emma Watson could have avoided the film since she was never the first choice for Mae Holland. Alicia Vikander was considered for the role long before she was.
The actress was given the opportunity of working on three films, out of which she could choose the one she wanted. The actress was offered Assassin’s Creed, Jason Bourne, and The Circle at the same time. Due to the massive amount of fans that were rooting for Matt Damon’s film, Vikander chose Jason Bourne and the role went to James Ponsoldt’s second choice, Emma Watson. The Swedish actor may have avoided starring in the flop film, but she opened the gates for Watson to do just that.

The Failure Of Emma Watson’s Film
Critics were not happy to see The Circle. They were pointing at how the script seemed to be an aimless spectacle of points that were never made. Furthermore, the talented actors were being questioned about their poor performances because fans and critics knew well enough just how well they could act.
“The Circle feels like an anti-social media tirade written by someone who tried sending a tweet once and decided he hated it.”
It managed to make double its budget, earning a whopping $40 Million at the box office. However, it started with only an $18 Million budget. Even with so much potential, the movie barely managed to hit the spot for fans and remained a massive flop.
