Marvel Studios Developing Daredevil & The Defenders?

Marvel The Defenders

Marvel fans were upset when Netflix decided to end Daredevil after season 3 despite its tremendous success. The show was such a hit and a fourth one was on its way until they called off before the production began.

The Netflix-Marvel split could mean more opportunity for the latter to pursue more projects. Kevin Feige, who spearheads most of the company’s projects, will more than likely utilize Disney.

In a report from The Hollywood Reporter, the official answer to the Netflix-Marvel separation was revealed. The company stated that money was the main factor.

“Put simply: Netflix did not have an ownership stake in any of its Marvel TV series. Each of the six Marvel shows was owned by Disney. Netflix paid ABC Studios a licensing fee for each season of its respective series,” THR reports.

Several projects under the partnership did not meet their goals. After the misfire, both decided it was time to part ways. Despite the shakeup, it opened more opportunities.

Now that Disney+ is here and would be calling for more contents after their official launch last year, this might be the chance to redeem Daredevil and the rest of the gang.

It should be said that it’s currently unclear whether Marvel Studios will keep the former actors or their continuity.
