Marvel Star Was Desperate to Steal Henry Cavill’s Geralt Role in The Witcher Before Liam Hemsworth Replaced Him

Henry Cavill has been playing the role of Geralt in The Witcher for the last two seasons. It aired for the first time in December 2019. It was quite interesting to see DC Extended Universe’s Superman in the role. The actor proved his worth with sheer dedication and hard work. The series is watched in large numbers, and Cavill has garnered a massive fan following for his character. However, to the disappointment of fans, the actor will not come back for the fourth season.

The Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth has officially filled in the shoes of Henry Cavill for the superhit show The Witcher. But, the show could have been quite different if it was given to another top contender, Sebastian Stan.

This Marvel star could replace Henry Cavill in The Witcher 4

As per the prior announcement by Netflix, the protagonist Henry Cavill has been replaced by Isn’t It Romantic star Liam Hemsworth. The news was quite crushing for the fans of Enola Holmes star, and some of them even did not want to watch the show anymore.

According to Redanian Intelligence, Liam Hemsworth had earlier auditioned for the role in The Witcher in 2018. As per the rumors, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier star Sebastian Stan was also a frontrunner for the role of Geralt in the series. However, the role eventually went to DC star Henry Cavill.

Now, after Cavill announced his exit from the show after three seasons, it has been given to The Hunger Games star. Hemsworth will be making his first appearance in season 4 of the Netflix show.

Marvel star Sebastian Stan auditioned for Henry Cavill’s role in The Witcher

Sebastian Stan is a Romanian–American actor who is popular for his role of Bucky Barnes or Winter Soldier in Marvel Cinematic Universe. He made his MCU debut with the film Captain America: The First Avenger, and after that, he starred in the miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021). His other films include The Martian, Ghosted, I, Tonya, Spread, and others. He has also worked in top TV series like Gossip Girl, Kings, etc. The actor has earned nominations for Primetime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Critics’ Choice Award for his projects.

Henry Cavill has already shot Season 3 of The Witcher, and the first half of the season will start streaming on Netflix on 29th June 2023.
