Many fans of comic book movies have wanted a Marvel and DC crossover for a long time. While it doesn’t seem like that will happen anytime soon, at least we will be able to soon see two of the leading actors of the franchises in a project together. The latest news is that Robert Pattinson and Robert Downey Jr. are all set to star in a film about a serial killer who wants to change how the system works.
Robert Pattinson And Robert Downey Jr. Join Forces For A New Film
As per Puck’s Matthew Belloni, Robert Pattinson has been attached to lead an Adam McKay film that has been titled Average Height, Average Build for now. He reports that Robert Downey Jr. among others will be a part of the cast as well. Belloni also says that the film is an allegorical dramedy about a serial killer. Here’s the synopsis:
“About a serial killer who gets into politics in an effort to change the laws to be more, well, murder-friendly.”
The industry insider says that the budget for the project is high and has caused several producers to take a pause. This hesitation is surprising because McKay’s past 3 films have generated a total of 17 Oscar nominations. Also, Don’t Look Up, the Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence-led Netflix Film, has become the second most-viewed movie on the platform, with a total of 360 million hours watched.
However, Belloni suggests that the project will probably happen, and that too at a streamer. But he says that a Netflix source has informed him that they aren’t bidding on it as of yet. Nevertheless, fans of Pattinson and Downey Jr. are excited about the film.

Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Pattinson’s fans have taken to social media to express their excitement for the upcoming Adam McKay movie. The overwhelmingly positive feedback to the announcement is expected since both the stars are Hollywood A-listers and are known globally for playing two of the most recognized comic book characters. However, fans of The Batman and Iron Man films aren’t the only ones celebrating the announcement of the McKay movie. The premise has generated buzz among regular cinema lovers as well. They are intrigued by the plot of a serial killer trying to make the laws more in his favor.

Nothing more is known about the film as of now and as such, it remains to be seen if it ultimately will even happen or not. Robert Pattinson will soon begin filming The Batman 2 while Robert Downey Jr. will be next seen in Oppenheimer.
The Batman 2 has a tentative release date of 3 October 2025, while Oppenheimer is set for release on 21 July 2023.
