Captain America 4 will bring a new tone to MCU

All the movies produced by Marvel in Phases 4 and 5 have left the audience pondering about one essential point, the lack of being grounded. Recent releases Thor: Love and Thunder and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania were criticized for their less-than-realistic concepts, including Gods and Multiverse.

Hence, Captain America: New World Order production designer Ramsey Avery shared in an interview with Collider about the film being very grounded. It would be different from other MCU movies that are released after Avengers: Endgame.

Avery explained that Marvel is now trying new stuff with the Multiverse version of stories. He added that Captain America 4 would use forward thinking in a way that makes sense of real happening in the world.

“The intent of this is to be very grounded, to make sure it has that sense of really happening in the world. So it’s a different sense in a lot of ways than particularly some of the more recent pieces have been. And it’s a very deliberate choice, and it’s a fascinating choice and an exciting choice. And it comes with a whole host of different kinds of questions involved in that.”

Avery also appreciated Captain America 4 director Julius Onah for his creative and unique way of looking at Marvel. His unique thought pattern will be seen in the upcoming sequel.

Probability of success of Captain America 4 with a grounded story

The fan complaints about the far-from-reality concepts of Multiverse in the recent Marvel projects have been addressed in Captain America 4. Also, the upcoming Marvel movies Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Spider-Man 4 are focussing on being close to ground reality in their narratives.

MCU has produced several projects with grounded stories, which included Captain America franchises like Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Seeing the success of the past movies it can be assumed that the upcoming movie in a similar tone will also prove to be successful.

In the movie, Sam’s wings or shield are still a pivotal part of his role, however, there will also be a presence of the extraordinary with the return of the villain named Leader, played by Tim Blake Nelson. As per reports, the new film will also introduce Serpent Society, which would add to the grounded effort of the film.

The film’s production is currently paused due to an ongoing writer’s strike. Actors Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford will play prominent roles in the movie.

Captain America: New World Order is expected to release in theatres on May 3, 2024.
