Marvel and Sony have us covered for the lack of MCU and SPUMC projects in 2020. This year is going to bring in 12 new Marvel projects. So without any further ado, let’s just look into every Marvel movie and TV series that’s confirmed to arrive in 2021.
WandaVision
Phase 4 is going to commence with Marvel’s first Disney+ series. Wanda is going to bring Vision back to life as she unlocks her reality altering powers. Along with Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, we’re going to see Katherine Hahn, Teyonah Parris, Randal Park and Kat Dennings appear in the series. WandaVision will premiere on January 15, and will last for 8-9 episodes.
Morbius
On March 19, Jared Leto brings us the second SPUMC movie after Venom. He is set to portray Morbius the Living Vampire. Along with Leto, Tyrese Gibson, Jared Harris, Matt Smith, Adria Arjona and Michael Keaton will star in the film.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
On the same day as Morbius releases theatrically, Disney+ will debut the first episode of MCU’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan will reprise their roles as the titular characters in 6 epic episodes that will carry the same quality as a theatrically released MCU movie.
Black Widow
Scarlett Johansson’s final MCU outing will surprisingly be her first solo flick as Black Widow. We’ve been waiting for this film since forever. And, we’re glad that it won’t be pushed any further than May 7. Florence Pugh will make her debut as Yelena Belova, and we’re also excited to see what Red Guardian (David Harbour), Melina Vostokoff (Rachel Weisz) and Taskmaster have to offer.
Loki
Despite Loki’s demise in Avengers: Infinity War, Tom Hiddleston will continue to reprise his character in a different timeline. Apparently, he’d turn into a “Time-Cop,” after cutting a supposed deal with the TVA to clear his name. Loki is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in May.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage
Following Loki will be Sony’s Venom sequel, which will bring Carnage onto the big screen. Besides Tom Hardy and Woodey Harrelson, there’s a chance that Venom: Let There Be Carnage might also involve Tom Holland as Peter Parker. So, watchout for this one on June 25.
What if…?
In Summer, Marvel will bring us their first ever animated series that is based on MCU characters. In this anthology series, we’re going to witness several alternate storylines involving some major MCU events. All MCU actors will be voicing their characters in this series, and Jeffrey Wright will voice the Watcher, Uatu.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
Simu Liu will make his debut as Shang-Chi on July 9. This Mortal Kombat-esque MCU story will bring the real Mandarin (Tony Leung) into the mix. Along with these two characters, we’ll get to see several other enhanced individuals, trained combatants, sorcerers, mutants (possibly), and even Fin Fang Foom show up.
Ms. Marvel
Iman Vellani will lead her own MCU series as Kamala Khan in late 2021. She’d be the first Inhuman character to show up, and the Disney+ show will directly lead into Captain Marvel 2. So, don’t be surprised if Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers also makes a cameo in the series.
Eternals
On November 5, Marvel is set to bring a new ensemble cast of immortal heroes, who have been hiding in plain sight on Earth for thousands of years. The film will dive into the rich history of the MCU that involves the Eternals, Deviants and even the Celestials. Written and directed by Chloe Zhao, Eternals will feature Richard Madden, Angelina Jolie, Kit Harrington, Salma Hayek, and many other familiar actors.
Hawkeye
After 5 appearances in the MCU, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye is finally getting his own solo series on Disney+. It is set to arrive in late 2021, and we’re going to see Clint Barton train Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) in the ways of Hawkeye. Vera Farmiga and Florence Pugh are the other familiar names joining the series.
Spider-Man 3
Disney and Sony’s Untitled Spider-Man 3 is probably the most anticipated MCU movie of 2021. Not only will the franchise regulars return, but we’ll get to see Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprise their Spider-Man roles in the film. Kirsten Dunst, Emma Stone, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx, and many other Spider-Man franchise characters are said to return. Even Charlie Cox could show up as Matt Murdock. And it’s highly likely that Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange will make all these Multiverse appearances possible. Spider-Man 3 is set to arrive on December 17.
It is likely that we’ll get a new Marvel project every month. So, 2021 will surely be the biggest year for a Marvel fan. Let’s hope that COVID-19 won’t delay any of these movies or TV shows.
