Mark Wahlberg took over the role of Cade Yeager in Transformers: Age of Extinction after actor Shia LaBeouf led the franchise as Sam Witwicky for Bay’s initial trilogy of Transformers action-packed film series. LaBeouf left the franchise after wrapping up its third installment Dark of the Moon, claiming, “I just don’t think right now there is anywhere to take Sam.”

Mark Wahlberg Claims He Felt No Pressure While Filming Transformers: The Last Knight
During the shooting of the titular movie, Mark Wahlberg spoke at length with Collider explaining his role and how he felt while reading the script of the project, comparing how this one is different from his debuting film in the franchise.
Speaking about his reaction after reading the script of the film, Mark Wahlberg shared,
“I was pleasantly surprised, you want to do something different, and being this kind of “man on the run” adventure story is a nice departure from what we did before. It introduces new cool characters, and Cade’s got this great relationship with this smart, sophisticated English woman and that creates a lot of humor, and there’s a lot of new characters that are cool.”
The actor further added that for Transformers: The Last Knight, he didn’t feel much pressure as compared to his 2013 biographical war film Lone Survivor, claiming,
“I’m always like everybody else, I just approach it as a piece of the puzzle where we’re all here to service Michael’s vision. It’s perfectly fine like that; I never look at it as more pressure or less pressure unless, of course, we’re telling a true story in a movie like Lone Survivor where you have real people depending on you to get it right and do them justice, so there’s no pressure now.”
Mark Wahlberg is one of the most beloved actors in the entertainment industry who has done dozens of iconic films like Lone Survivor, Patriots Day, We Own the Night, The Basketball Diaries, and Deepwater Horizon.
The seventh installment in the Transformers live-action film series, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, is now in theaters.
