Appearing in several big-budget movies alongside renowned Hollywood celebrities, Johnny Depp has made a name for himself in the industry for his strong and iconic performances. He is a seasoned actor, who has been part of the movie industry for nearly four decades, and he is known for his best roles such as Edward Scissorhands, Gilbert Grape, and Willy Wonka.
However, for a generation, his monumentally successful career has been camouflaged because of the infamous Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard trial. As a result, he lost his role in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, where he reprised his iconic role of Caption Jack Sparrow. Recently, Alice Cooper, a close friend of the Rango actor shared how he should work in a movie with ex-wife, Amber Heard.
Alice Cooper Jokes About Johnny Depp And Amber Heard Working In A Remake
While most people know Johnny Depp for his acting skills, he is a multi-talented man, who has also left an indelible mark in the music industry. He is the founding member of the rock band Hollywood Vampires, consisting of renowned musicians such as Alice Cooper and Joe Perry.
Alice Cooper is a close friend of Depp, and he shared some insights about his friend’s defamation trial when they were on their recent Hollywood Vampires tour with Vulture. Cooper stated that the trial never caused a problem among the band members, as it was not the primary focus of their tour.
“Not at all. If you talk to Johnny about it, it was something that happened. He was just like, ‘Yeah, yeah, what’s the next song?’ For Johnny, it was one of those things where … you can’t say it got blown out of proportion, but I don’t know why they would televise the proceedings, right? It’s because of the fame of both people.”
Alice Cooper jokingly continued that he would love to watch Johnny Depp work alongside Amber Heard in a remake of War of The Roses and to make it better, even Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie should also be a part of the film, as they were also part of a similar legal situation.
“The best thing I said about the whole thing was, ‘They should do a remake of War of the Roses with Johnny and Amber.’ Who’s not gonna go see that? I’m going to see that! To make it even better, make their lawyers Angie and Brad. All you need is a really funny director, and that’s gonna be a monster hit.”
While Cooper teased his friend, he also stated how Joe Perry and he were not affected by the whole Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard defamation trial.
The Defamation Trial Never Affected The Relationship Among The Band Members
In the same interview, the Poison singer stated that the defamation trial never impacted the relationship of the band members with Johnny Depp. He recalled that after the verdict was declared, where Heard was found guilty, none of them had any discussion when they were on the tour.
“I don’t think it was ever mentioned on the tour because nobody cared. I never watched a moment of the trials. It was so blown out of proportion. It was such a Hollywood thing. I knew Johnny was gonna win because how many people have other exes literally on their side testifying for him? That never happens. I turned it right off and said, ‘Well, you know, Johnny will weather this storm and when he’s onstage, he’s our guitar player.’”
The Hollywood Vampires tour was affected as several shows during their tour were canceled, and some of the cancellations were allegedly linked to Johnny Depp. It was recently, teased that the Dark Shadows actor would return to reprise his role of Captain Jack Sparrow if his only condition is met.
