Eiichiro Oda’s masterpiece, One Piece is gaining fame not only in manga and anime but also in the live-action series by Netflix. Since its release, it has broken a lot of records within the first two weeks. The series has received the same love from the fans as they have for the manga series and anime. This has resulted in making the Netflix live adaptation of the series.
The live-action One Piece version on Netflix is reportedly budgeted at $18 million for each episode, making it one of the costliest shows ever produced. And each episode was worth its penny. The biggest expenditure of the series was the salaries of the star cast which were way higher than that of many of the leading characters of other famous series. Mackenyu, the actor who plays the role of Zoro, has made nearly 4 times more than the lead actress of She-Hulk Tatiana Maslany.

Salary of One Piece’s Zoro Actor Mackenyu
The cast of the series includes Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Each of the cast members has reportedly earned a big bag for their roles in the series. But the shocking thing is Mackenyu, who plays the role of Zoro is not even the leading role of the series, but has still managed to make nearly 4 times more than Tatiana Maslany, the Lead of the famous Marvel Series, The She-Hulk.
According to Showbizgalore, the salary of Zoro Actor Mackenyu in One Piece is $220,000 per episode, whereas The Things reported that Maslany made $50,000 per episode. This means Mackenyu made $1.76 Million from One Piece Live Action’s 8-epsiode season 1, while Maslany only made $450,000 from the 9-epsiode season of The She-Hulk
Salary of Other One Piece Actors
The cast of the show was also compensated handsomely for their efforts. According to Showbizgalore, Inaki Godoy, who plays Monkey D. Luffy, was paid $320,000 for his role. Emily Rudd was paid $200,000 for her performance as Nami. While Jacob Romero Gibson, who played Usopp, and Taz Skylar, who played Sanji, both got $150,000.
Other supporting actors also made big cash from the vastly successful series. Peter Gadiot who played the character of Shanks made $120,000. Morgan Davies as Koby received a salary of $90,000. Ilia Isorelýs Paulino as Alvida earned $75,000 from the series and Aidan Scott as Helmeppo made $70,000. This makes the level of production that went into the series vastly clear and the creators and producers wanted to leave no stone unturned in making the series successful.
