Shia LaBeouf Called Out Tom Hardy for His Secret Obsession After Knocking Him Out During On-Set Feud

It does seem a little weird that Shia LaBeouf, the actor who starred in Transformers would ever complain about purchasing expensive cars. Well, that is exactly what happened between him and Tom Hardy when they shared the screen in 2012.

Starring in Lawless, the duo had a hard time working together since they collided often on sets and also had a public feud in 2011. Being a crime/drama movie, LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, and Jason Clarke had to be filled with riches and expensive cars. LaBeouf, however, called the expenses a complete waste and even referred to Hardy and Clarke as clowns!

When Shia LaBeouf Called Tom Hardy A Clown!

Back in 2012, Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy shared the screen in a movie titled Lawless. The two were quite a dynamic duo since they were brothers in the movie but they were quite the rivals in real life. Admitting hatred for his co-stars, LaBeouf went the extra mile and called them clowns in an interview after the movie!

When The Dark Knight Rises actor and Jason Clarke were talking about expensive cars, it irked LaBeouf. In an interview, the Transformers actor talked about how he had enough money to last 25 lifetimes. Stating that he had no interest in materialistic things anymore, LaBeouf called out Tom Hardy and Jason Clarke when they were talking about expensive cars while on the sets of Lawless.

“At this point I have enough money to live 25 lifetimes. You couldn’t spend the money I’ve accrued now. [But] I have no interest in the materialistic bulls*** money can buy.”

He further continued,

“They’re talking about Ferraris and s***, like it’s a cool car. If Clarke pulled up in a Ferrari right now, my idea wouldn’t be, ‘What a cool f***ing guy!’ It would be, ‘Look at this clown.’ I think the fact that I despise that stuff keeps me safe. I hang on to my dirt. I like my dirt,”

As for LaBeouf and Tom Hardy’s relationship, the duo even had a public scuffle back in 2011 when the Fury actor punched Hardy across the face!

In an interview with Den of Geek, Tom Hardy referenced his public scuffle with Shia LaBeouf. As per the Peaky Blinders actor, LaBeouf knocked him out and stated that he was quite dangerous to have around.

“I got knocked out by Shia LaBeouf, actually, yeah. He knocked me out sparko. Got very aggressive. Knocked me out cold. He’s a bad, bad boy,” he continued. “He’s quite intimidating as well. He’s a scary dude.”

LaBeouf later clarified that they were just having fun and playing with each other and it was an accident. Hardy would later go on to joke about the incident often and they both did not work together after the 2012 movie. Lawless is available to stream on Netflix in the U.S.
