The world waited in anticipation for another look at Loki’s mischievous life and Marvel Studios is once again here to deliver. Marvel Studios reached newer heights when the first season of Loki was released back in 2021.
Now with another season down and ready to go, the trailer for Marvel Studio’s Loki Season 2 is finally here. As it is Marvel’s knack for hiding subtle nods and references to the MCU, quite a significant nod and applause was given to Into the Spider-Verse with what we now call “Timeslipping”.
Loki Season 2 Gives A Subtle Nod To Into the Spider-Verse
Back in 2018, the world changed when Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was released. The movie featured the concept of a multiverse wherein several Spider-people “glitched” into the world of Miles Morales.
This “glitching” that the Spider-people experienced, became a subtle nod in Loki Season 2. With the trailer of the MCU show finally dropping and showcasing the mischievous side of Tom Hiddleston once more, fans are quite excited about the project. In the MCU trailer, Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief and Owen Wilson’s Mobius go to Ke Huy Quan with a problem.
Apparently, Loki is “glitching” in the TVA. The word “timeslipping” is introduced which essentially means that the God of Mischief is glitching through time. The glitching scenes are a nod to Sony’s successful 2018 film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The series also marks the return of Ke Huy Quan and fans are quite excited.
Loki Also Marks The Return of Ke Huy Quan
Ke Huy Quan is an iconic actor who worked primarily in the 1980s and 1990s. He took a 20-year break from Hollywood due to the lack of opportunities that an Asian actor faced in the film industry. The actor recently starred in Michelle Yeoh’s Everything Everywhere All At Once for which he even won an Oscar in the Best Supporting Actor category.
The actor has once again returned to television screens with the return of his character for Loki Season 2. Alongside Ke Huy Quan, Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Tara Strong (as Miss Minutes), and several other actors are also expected to make a reprisal. Loki Season 1 was very well received by the audience and was nominated for 6 Primetime Emmys. The series received a rating of 8.2/10 on IMDB and a whopping 92% on Rotten Tomatoes and love and adoration from around the world.
Loki Season 2 is slated for a release date of 6th October 2023 in the U.S. and as for the first season, the MCU show is available to stream on Disney+.
