Over the years, Sony has been working tirelessly to bring a better gaming experience to PlayStation through numerous different pieces of technology that will help immerse gamers in the whichever digital world they choose. Now, Sony Interactive Entertainment has recently declared during a press release that it will be acquiring Audeze, the high-end headphone maker, and will continue to advance the player’s experience in gaming through the PlayStation console.
How Will This Acquisition Affect Playstation in the Future?
So far, there won’t be any immediate effects towards the PlayStation console until a new set of headphones is brought out in collaboration with Audeze. However, once they do release, there will be a significant impact throughout the numerous games that will release to PlayStation. There will be a whole new stage of immersion players will be able to experience with the upcoming headphones that could come from this merger.
During the press release, there was a lot of information that highlighted certain features that will be coming to the Audeze headphones in collaboration with Sony. It was stated that there would be:
“patented technologies and unique planar magnetic drivers to deliver an outstanding sound experience“
which will be highly effective for consumers and recording professionals like streamers and Youtuber’s.
For now, we do not know the full details of this acquisition as there haven’t been many specifics disclosed and the acquisition that is currently underway. But once this deal has been finalized, we can be sure that in the future, there will be more for Audeze to collaborate on with Sony. It was even stated during the press release that Audeze will be “benefiting from being a part of the PlayStation ecosystem.” which tells us that there could be a lot more potential upgrades in the future of PlayStation.

How Will This Acquisition Affect Audeze and It’s Other Projects?
This will impact PlayStation and Sony in many ways as they will be able to expand their technology and services. It will provide players with a lot more enjoyment from their consoles and the games they will be playing. On the other hand, this acquisition raises the question of whether Audeze will stop working on any other projects or selling to any other companies due to this new deal created between them and Sony.
Even though Audeze has been acquired by Sony, this will not limit them to only providing its resources to Sony. The headphone company has already been made clear during the press release that Audeze will still be able to act as an independent entity. Still, the company will also be able to benefit by working with Sony, broadening its audience, and increasing resources as it advances technology.
During the press release, Sony spoke about planar magnetic drivers and how they will begin to create a larger and better experience for games. Brand-new PlayStation products that will be coming soon, such as the Pulse Explore Earbuds and Pulse Elite Headset, have provided insight into what can be expected out of this acquisition. Sony has been in talks with Audeze so that new products waiting to be released can be developed in collaboration with the headphone company.
