In fact, this is one of his most well-known accomplishments and a source of greatest pride. And that’s why anyone who has been following Ethan Hunt’s journey throughout the six previous Mission: Impossible films is eagerly awaiting to watch Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One.

Cruise and his devoted team have faced multiple international terrorists and power-hungry maniacs who have threatened to blow up the world since the first Mission: Impossible film was released in 1996. There is a lot of history there, which might be intimidating for those who are merely seeking to enjoy the upcoming exciting, action-packed film.

How Did Tom Cruise Decide To Shoot The Biggest Stunt On Day One?

Tom Cruise is renowned for performing risk-taking stunts and dedicating himself to getting them perfect for his roles. He recently showed his commitment to his craft on the set of his upcoming Mission Impossible film. The actor reportedly took a risk that could have cost him his life on the first day of filming.

The 60-year-old actor reportedly insisted on performing a risky motorcycle stunt for the film’s opening scene. He was prepared to risk his life in order to prevent production delays brought on by accidents or unforeseen events.

However, Cruise had a much more sensible explanation for scheduling the motorcycle stunt on the first day of filming. The money would have been lost if his motorcycle stunt caused him to suffer a serious injury while filming the film. This could have been true as the production was hampered by the actor’s ankle injury on Mission: Impossible – Fallout.

The actor-producer spoke to Entertainment Tonight about how the stunt was captured right at the beginning of the production.

“Well we know either we will continue with the film or we’re not. Let’s know day one! Let us know day one what is going to happen: Do we all continue or is it a major rewrite?”

Tom Cruise on Shooting The Dangerous Mission: Impossible 7 Stunt on Day One

If you have seen the Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One trailers, you are probably already aware of Tom Cruise’s wild motorcycle stunt. The actor, playing Ethan Hunt, rides a motorcycle straight off a cliff before jumping out of the way as it free-falls and crashes below.

Cruise explained the absurd, but wise reasoning behind why they decided to open with this scene on the first day of filming the stunt:

“I was training and I was ready. You have to be razor sharp when you’re doing something like that. It was very important as we were prepping the film that it was actually the first thing. I don’t want to drop that and go shoot other things and have my mind somewhere else. Everyone was prepped. Let’s just get it done.”

Along with the Jack Reacher star, other franchise veterans, including Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Henry Czerny, Vanessa Kirby, and Frederick Schmidt are present this time. Some of the newcomers to the franchise include Pom Klementieff, Cary Elwes, Indira Varma, Shea Whigham, Mark Gatiss, Esai Morales, and Charles Parnell.
