With the inclusion of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher in the upcoming Disney Plus show, Daredevil: Born Again, fans are now anticipating the inclusion of other members of Netflix’s Defenders Saga. Although Marvel hasn’t clarified whether Netflix’s Defender Saga, which started with season 1 of Daredevil and ended with the 3rd season of Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, is connected to the MCU or not.

But following Ritter’s response to the inclusion of Bernthal’s Punisher in the MCU, it appears that Marvel might be planning something big for the remaining members of the Street-Level Heroes.

Krysten Ritter’s recent comment sparks hope for the Defenders Saga being canon to MCU

Following the addition of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher in the upcoming series, Marvel’s Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter has expressed her excitement through her Instagram. The Breaking Bad actress commented with a fire emoji under Bernthal’s recent post involving the Punisher, and following her excitement, it seems that MCU might some big plans for the actress as well.

Considering that the actors, including Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox, have already jumped into the MCU, fans believe that Netflix’s Defenders Saga might become canon to MCU. Even though there hasn’t been any news on the return of other characters from the Defenders Saga, including Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. But it appears that the Jessica Jones star is still open to returning to the role if asked.

Krysten Ritter is open to returning to the role of Jessica Jones

Although it has been a while since the actress portrayed the character onscreen, following the recent inclusion of Bernthal, fans are hopeful that Krysten Ritter can too reprise her role in MCU. Even though there haven’t been any reports regarding the character’s future in the MCU, Krysten Ritter seems to be open to the idea of returning to the role.

In one of her interviews, the actress expressed her love for the character and shared that she will return to the role if given the opportunity. The actress stated,

“I absolutely love Jessica more than anything. And I loved those years playing her. If there was ever an opportunity for her to pop up anywhere, I would be the first [to say yes]. I may or may not have the jacket ready to go in my closet. So, you never know, but if I ever had the opportunity to play her again, I would be so thrilled.”

With Jon Bernthal ready to make his jump into the MCU, fans will hope that the remaining characters from Netflix’s defender Saga will too get their chance to shine in MCU’s future. But considering that two beloved actors from the Netflix show, Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll, aren’t returning in the Disney plus series, the speculation of the Saga being canon to the MCU remains under wraps.

No release date for Daredevil: Born Again has been made official.
