In the 2019 Netflix documentary series Kevin Hart: Don’t F**k This Up, the comedian laid bare his life, sharing the controversies that have surrounded him including the public revelation of his cheating scandal.
Back in 2017, the Jumanji: Welcome to The Jungle actor publicly apologized to his family – wife Eniko Parrish and their children – for engaging in an intimate relationship with another woman. This revelation surfaced when Hart became the target of alleged blackmail involving a compromising video.
Kevin Hart’s Public Apology and Aftermath
Kevin Hart admitted to cheating when his wife was pregnant with their son. Addressing his infidelity during an appearance on the Red Table Talk show with Will Smith, the 44-year-old actor admitted:
“I stepped in some s**t, yeah. You’re never prepared for that side of it. Having a little girl in my life, it’s tough. You don’t realize the impact that your mistakes can truly have. When the kids get involved, it’s a different feeling, it’s a different emotion.”
Eniko Parrish, understandably, had an emotional reaction to the entire scandal. She openly discussed her struggles to keep a level head in the Netflix documentary, where she appeared alongside Hart:
“I wasn’t ready at the time to just give up on my family … It was a lot for me, but we’ve been through it, we’ve gone through it, we passed it and he’s a better man now because of it.”
Despite the turmoil in their relationship, Parrish chose to stay with Kevin Hart, and the couple later welcomed another child together.
Kevin Hart Reflected On Being “Human”
Kein Hart was recently seen at the Cannes Lions Festival in June. When asked about his personal life, the Fatherhood actor acknowledged that the “ecosystem of Kevin Hart” has undergone significant changes in recent years:
“[There was a time] when I focused on the idea of the mistake and it happening and being OK with the recovery. Why? Because it’s human.”
The Ride Along star is a proud father of four children – Heaven and Hendrix from his previous marriage to Torrei Hart, and Kenzo and Kaori with Eniko Parrish. The cheating scandal brought the entire family under the spotlight and made him realize the impact of his fame on his household.
In 2018, the Central Intelligence actor had to step down as the Oscars host after homophobic tweets shared by Hart resurfaced on social media.
