Apart from being one of the most beloved celebrities in the industry, Keanu Reeves has also cemented his name as one of the most beloved action heroes through his performance in John Wick. But even though the actor is known for not backing away from challenges and allegedly performing most of his stunts, not every challenge in his career ended up going smoothly for him.
Despite the actor’s endearing persona, the John Wick star once had a pretty weird experience while performing a s*x scene for Knock Knock, which left the actor in a very awkward position.
Keanu Reeves was uncomfortable while performing an intimate scene with Lorenza Izzo
Back in 2015, after garnering praise for John Wick, Keanu Reeves went on to star alongside Ana de Armas and Lorenza Izzo in a horror-thriller, Knock Knock. Even though Reeves expressed that he enjoyed his time during the movie, the actor opened up about one particular scene that left him in a weird position.
While speaking with Jimmy Kimmel, Keanu Reeves went on to express his viewpoint on the movie’s s*x scene, involving him, Ana de Armas, and Lorenza Izzo. The actor stated that things turned pretty awkward for Reeves, considering Izzo was engaged with the director Eli Roth at the time. He stated,
“Yeah, I mean, it’s always… Those scenes are weird, you know? But Eli had created a great situation of trust and rehearsal. I mean, I wasn’t that guy who was like, ‘Eli, your wife is hot!’ Like every day [thinking], ‘I can’t wait [to perform the scene.]”
Although things worked out perfectly fine for the actor and he went on to deliver an immaculate performance in the role of Evan Webber. Ana de Armas later went on to share her perspective on the situation.
Ana de Armas revealed that Keanu Reeves was very shy in Knock Knock
Following her experience in the horror flick, Ana de Armas expressed that the John Wick star was pretty shy before performing the s*x scene. Although the actress considers that her favorite scene from the movie, it appears that it wasn’t easy for Reeves to dissolve into the character. The Blonde star revealed that Reeves was very uncomfortable, but his hesitance later resulted in crafting the perfect sequence for the movie. She said,
“Keanu is shy and feels uncomfortable. He’s not open about talking about his life in general. So we were really pushing him to the limit, playing with him and touching him and whispering things to him before the scene. He was really uncomfortable. It really worked.”
But despite the brilliant performances from the actors, the movie as a whole wasn’t quite well received and is now completely overshadowed by the John Wick star’s other enticing projects.
Knock Knock is available to stream on HBO Max.
