However, it seems that after the fourth entry in the franchise, both Keanu Reeves and the director Chad Stahelski are ready to move past the action franchise for now. And while reflecting on his future as the character, Keanu Reeves revealed his viewpoint on the possibility of the fifth part.

The future of Keanu Reeves’ John Wick depends on the fans

While speaking with Total Films, Keanu Reeves reflected on the possibility of the fifth entry in the John Wick franchise. The Matrix star stated that the future of the franchise depends on how the fourth entry in the action franchise is received. Reeves stated,

“You have to see how the audience responds to what we did. The only reason we’ve had a chance to make these movies is that people have liked what we have done. So I think we have to wait and see how the audience responds to it. Hopefully, they’ll like it.”

Considering the early rave reviews of the movie, which are claiming that John Wick: Chapter 4 is the best in the franchise yet. The future of the John Wick universe does appear safe. However, it might be a long while before we get to witness Keanu Reeves in the iconic role after the fourth part.

Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski are done with John Wick for now

Even though early rumors were claiming that the fourth and fifth parts of the action franchise were being filmed simultaneously. But considering there hasn’t been any official confirmation about the fifth entry in the franchise and it might be a long while before we get to witness the sequel to John Wick: Chapter 4.

While speaking with the Hollywood Reporter, Chad Stahelski expressed that he and Keanu Reeves are currently done with the franchise for now. Even though they’re passionate about continuing John Wick’s story, they want to provide the character some rest and focus on other things. Stahelski stated,

“In our minds, Keanu and I are done for the moment. We’re going to give John Wick a rest. I’m sure the studio has a plan. If everyone loves it and it goes kooky, then we’ll take a quiet minute.
