Known for the cult-classic turn-of-the-century sci-fi wonder The Matrix Trilogy, Keanu Reeves is no stranger to bringing something unique and different to the table, which also translates to the critical and commercial success that follows his films. As a result, the star is compensated accordingly, which is oftentimes, a hefty paycheck. And this trend continued in the recently released John Wick 4, where his words were weighed in gold.

After making his run as the most dangerous and lethal assassin in the world, Reeves made his final showdown against The High Table and emerged victorious. And as most of the audience might’ve noticed his dialogues, or the lack thereof. During the entire runtime of the film, Wick only spoke 380 words in total. And for his performance as the Baba Yaga, he received a massive $15 Million paycheck.

When some math is done on these numbers, the words-to-payment ratio comes out to be an average of $40,000 per word spoken. This is something that not many people can boast about, especially when almost a third of his dialogue consists of the iconic word ‘Yeah’ and nothing else.

While many cinematic offerings may provide complex character development and design or extraordinary visuals and story, or a perfect blend of all of them, the John Wick franchise is dead set on providing the ultimate pulse-pounding and adrenaline-pumping action spectacle known to mankind. While the character designs and development may be commendable aspects of the films as well, the franchise manages to stick to its lethal action roots till the very end.
