Keanu Reeves Steps Away From Leonardo DiCaprio’s Series
Leonardo DiCaprio and Keanu Reeves had been working hand in hand on a project that was much termed DiCaprio’s dream project. Reeves was playing the protagonist, Daniel. H Burnham, who was an architect whose fate was tied alongside DiCaprio’s Henry H. Holmes, who is a serial killer. The Devil in the White City was initially supposed to be a feature film that would have included Paramount Studios and Martin Scorsese.
Incidentally, it was announced in August 2022 that Hulu would be taking over the script and instead have it made as a series on the streaming platform. DiCaprio bought the rights to the book being turned into a film all the way back in 2010. So the shocking revelation of Keanu Reeves choosing to leave the project took everyone by surprise. Not only was this a huge matter, but Reeves and DiCaprio working together on a series would have made it the largest commitment in television history. Unfortunately, Reeves parted ways from the project and he will no longer be continuing as Burnham.
Why Did Keanu Reeves Leave Leonardo DiCaprio’s Project
Although Keanu Reeves has been seen more in movies than in television shows, he has a great deal of experience on the smaller screens as well. However, it is still not confirmed as to why he decided to leave.
“I got a call at the beginning of the week and he said Keanu walked away from the movie. I said why? Did he not like the director, the script? No, I was told, he just has a problem with the next movie.”
This has not been the first time the actor denied a project or completely walked out of it. He denied working on the sequel for his and Sandra Bullock’s Speed because the script was just not sitting well with him. He even left The Detail because of his issue with the casting.
