When one talks about the symbiotic relationship between actors and their characters, one of the few unforgettable pairs that come to mind is John Wick/Keanu Reeves. The invincible fictional anti-hero that Reeves breathed life into for almost an entire decade brought together a fandom that was specially reserved for a crowd that marveled at the acts of righteous violence and retribution, all for the sake of love and honor.
Now, merely 2 months after the premiere of the franchise’s final installment, a fan has leaked the entire film on their Twitter timeline, whether to draw views and likes or out of an altruistic obligation felt towards fellow John Wick enthusiasts is not yet clear.

John Wick 4 Finds a Premature Premiere on Twitter Timeline
Directed by Chad Stahelski and starring the evergreen Keanu Reeves, John Wick: Chapter 4 was an homage and an ode to the previous 3 films that encompassed an overarching narrative spanning across exquisite locations all over the globe and ending in one glorious duel to the death in front of the awe-inspiring, panoramic location of the Sacré-Coeur Basilica, a church at the heart of the French capital standing at a height only second to the Eiffel that gazes over the entirety of Paris in one sweeping panorama.
But as ambitious and daunting as the cinematography may be, the event that takes place at the scene’s front and center puts an end to the franchise loved by so many – closing off not only Reeves’ chapter as the indomitable Baba Yaga but also marking an end of the main timeline. However, the overall execution of the film was not at par with the fans’ expectations. With people so hyped in the aftermath of Chapter 3’s a blasphemous cliffhanger, to assume anything could top the impressive scale of the first two movies was simply foolish.
The fall of the curtains on the incredible life and possible death of John Wick was then a must-watch even despite the poorly executed finale that relied more on the grandeur of monuments, locations, and palaces rather than the volatile simplicity of trapping a feral John Wick in a closed space and watching him go to work on his enemies. But the wait, anticipation, and demand for the film to arrive on streamers abruptly ended when a Twitter user uploaded the entire movie on their timeline merely 4 days after its digital release on Apple TV+
A feature enabled recently by Elon Musk, the former CEO of the micro-blogging platform, long-form videos are allowed to be uploaded by blue-check marked users with no additional hassle at all. John Wick: Chapter 4, along with numerous other films [e.g. Shrek, Evil Dead, etc.] has been consequently retweeted, liked, and bookmarked by thousands of users on the platform. Although this does not necessarily carve a dent in the box office collection of the Keanu Reeves film, it does hamper the sales that were supposed to be raked in upon the film’s OTT release.
An Acceptance Eulogy For the Tragic End of John Wick
While Keanu Reeves has seemingly always been in high demand with the international guild of Filmmakers, the same hasn’t quite been the case with John Wick and his international guild of Assassins. For one, it only seems as though the people they do assassinate are each other instead of high-profile targets or overarching supervillains. But the oversight exists due to the contingencies set by the plot from the very beginning of the franchise when the rugged and grieving John Wick appeared on-screen with his slicked-back hair and in a signature black suit and tie.
Since then, there has been no stopping the Man With a Vengeance until either he was 6 feet underground or his guild of assassins were all dead. But vanquishing one’s enemy takes much more than precision aim, luck, and gung-ho valor. With John Wick now seemingly finding his long-awaited peace, it seems as though the world has finally awakened to a new day whose years of grimy past had been washed away by rain in one solitary preceding night.
As the lingering sadness still clings to the air around the masses milling about and going to work, there also exists the knowledge of one man who fought for love and honor, and even in death, was victorious. But, death and a peaceful end are rarely the trademarks of tragic heroes. A new report now confirms that John Wick 5 is currently in the early stages of development at Lionsgate with Keanu Reeves potentially reprising his role one final time.
