After following an extended break, Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen has returned with a trailer and key visual for the excitedly awaited Shibuya Incident arc. They were just released yesterday, and the hype appears to be increasing.
The upcoming season is set to resume with new episodes on August 31st. Interestingly, just a week before this much-anticipated return, MAPPA revealed the updated appearance for the upcoming arc.
Because the art style has completely changed, fans are seeing entirely new versions of their beloved characters for the very first time.
The trailer also gave fans a listen to the arc’s opening theme “SPECIALZ” by Japanese rock band King Gnu. Since fans are excited about the Shibuya trailer, Jujutsu Kaisen is rapidly approaching the hype of One Piece’s Gear 5.

One Piece‘s Gear 5 Teaser Exceeds 5 Million Views Within A Day
Undoubtedly, One Piece‘s Gear 5 stands as one of the most remarkable moments in anime history. Anticipation had been steadily mounting since March of the previous year.
On the occasion of One Piece Day 2023, celebrated in July, the studio dropped a Gear 5 teaser, divulging the first look at Luffy’s iconic transformation.
As soon as the teaser was released, fans worldwide mobbed to watch it, exceeding 5 million views in just 24 hours. Impressively, the teaser now has over 12 million views.
Since that time, One Piece has shattered several additional records, and still, three more episodes remain before officially concluding the battle between Gear 5 Luffy and Kaido.
Jujutsu Kaisen isn’t lagging that far behind One Piece
However, Jujutsu Kaisen is not trailing far behind One Piece at all. While Jujutsu Kaisen may lack the two-decade legacy of One Piece, it still stands as one of the best new-generation anime series.
Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen premiered this summer, and following five episodes, the series jumped on an extensive hiatus. While the first five episodes featured the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc, the primary storyline is set to commence in the sixth episode.
Recently, TOHO released the first look of the Shibuya arc through a new trailer yesterday. The topic quickly started trending as fans raved about the amazing animation and captivating soundtrack.
Similar to One Piece‘s Gear 5, the Shibuya trailer for Jujutsu Kaisen also surpassed 5 million views in 24 hours. Impressively, the trailer went on to amass over 7 million views within just two days.
