It’s been a year since Johnny Depp won the infamous trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard. Now the 60-year-old actor is determined to work towards his career and will be soon seen making a comeback in a French Drama. The Blow actor has been receiving a lot of love and his fans are excited to see him as Louis XV in the French Drama Jeanne du Barry.
Depp was shooting for the drama in France for a very long time. Reportedly, the Dark Shadows actor had to face an American and French culture clash on the sets of his upcoming French drama.
Johnny Depp asked his Jeanne du Barry director to not knock on his door
As Johnny Depp was shooting for Jeanne du Barry in France he came across certain things on set that he was averse to. Franco- Algerian actress Maïwenn is the director of the series. In a recent interview, the 47-year-old filmmaker and actress talked about how there was a small clash between her and Depp.
The DNA actress said the 60-year-old actor would get very upset when someone would knock on his trailer’s door. Maïwenn also recalled an incident where the other crew members asked her not to knock on the door to let him know she is waiting, the My King actress said,
“One day, I did it anyway. And there, he made me understand that I had committed an unacceptable intrusion and asked me how I would have felt if he came knocking on my dressing room door. I replied that everyone does it all the time. Because that’s how a set works in France!”
Depp reportedly didn’t like when anyone from the cast and crew would knock on his trailer door. He wanted to have complete privacy and he also instructed all the people present on the set to not knock unless it was an emergency.

Johnny Depp skipped the Jeanne du Barry dinner party to rest
A few days ago during the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, Depp was spotted at the festival full of vim and vigor. The Sleepy Hollow actor received 7 minutes of standing ovation at the festival and a lot of people came to support the actor. Reportedly there was a dinner party hosted by the makers of the Jeanne du Barry and Depp decided to skip it. All the members of the cast and crew of the French drama were present at the supper expect the Black Mass actor. His seat was vacant and the makers were waiting for him to attend the event as he is a significant part of the drama.
The reason why Depp didn’t attend the dinner party was because he was exhausted after appearing for back-to-back interviews and events. He wanted to rest and therefore he decided not to attend the dinner party. Reportedly the makers were unhappy because of Depp’s absence.
