Johnny Depp’s trial with Amber has created a lot of contention in Hollywood because it was one of the most high-profile cases of 2022. At that time, everyone had an opinion of their own about the situation.
Some of the biggest names, like Depp’s x-partner Winona Ryder, Javier Bardem, and Sia, have supported the actor during his trial, but there was someone who didn’t brace Depp. It’s none other than famous broadcaster and media personality Howard Stern. He believes Depp is a narcissist and couldn’t think he could ever stay faithful in his relationships. Stern has also accused Depp of “overacting” during his defamation trial with ex-wife Amber Heard.
Howard Stern Thinks Johnny Depp Overreacted During His Trial Against Amber Heard
Back in 2001, Howard Stern asked Depp whether he had been unfaithful to his partners. The actor took a big pause before responding to this question which is kind of doubtful. So, more than a decade later, amid his legal feud with Amber Heard, Stern called Depp a “narcissist.” Stern stated that:
“On the narcissism scale, I think Johnny Depp is a huge narcissist.”
Speaking about Depp’s behavior in the trial, Stern continued to say that he was overacting in the trial because that’s what narcissists do (by addressing Depp). The radio host accused the actor of “overacting” during the trial and desiring it to be televised, as he said narcissists believe they can “talk their way out of everything.” But seems like Stern won’t let it happen.
Did Howard Stern Know Johny Depp and Amber Heard Feud Will Come?
During the phone interview with Stern, Johnny Depp was residing in France with Venessa Paradise. He told the host that he was “not officially” married but pretty much settled down with the French actress. The broadcaster then questioned the Transcendence actor about his faithfulness in relationships. Sternn said:
“Your problem is this, you’re so friggin’ good-looking.”
His co-host, Robin Quivers, continued:
“There’s no way you could ever be married because you just have too many opportunities.”
During the conversation, when Quivers mentioned that Depp “owes it to the women,” the actor chuckled. Stern then brought up Paul McCartney remarrying after his first wife’s passing and asked if Depp could envision being content with one woman in a similar situation. Depp fell silent for a moment, leading the host to inquire, “Hello, Johnny?”
“I’m here, I’m here… just pondering it,” the actor replied. When the question was repeated, he responded hesitantly, “Yeah.” Stern immediately replied, saying, “That’s not believable.” Depp clarified, “I’m not a cheater.”
The Pirates of the Caribbean star is also known for his high-profile relationships, including his past engagement with Winona Ryder, intense romance with Kate Moss, and 14-year partnership with Vanessa Paradis — the mother of his children Jack and Lily-Rose Depp.
There is a famous quote by Depp:
“If you love two people at the same time, choose the second. Because if you really loved the first one, you wouldn’t have fallen for the second.”
But it’s like Johnny Depp has fallen for too many and always selected the seconds. Now, After being shipped with his lawyer, Camille Vasquez (during his trial in 2022), the actor started dating Joelle Rich — an attorney from the previous defamation trial he had lost in the UK in 2020.
