Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez and her husband, Ben Affleck, have been the subject of memes over the past few months. One of the viral clips showed the couple in what appeared to be an argument over the Batman actor’s drinking. The actor allegedly faces a drinking and smoking problem, and his wife wanted him to quit drinking and smoking.
Considering that she herself does not drink and wants her husband to quit drinking, people were surprised when she launched her new alcohol venture, Delola. People have deemed it a “money grab” by Lopez and called her out for launching her own alcohol brand.
Jennifer Lopez Launches Her Alcohol Brand, Delola
The 53-year-old actress Jennifer Lopez launched her alcohol brand, Delola, earlier this month. The “ready to enjoy” cocktail comes in three different flavors with three different alcohol. The fan newsletters described the product being inspired by her nickname, Lola, for her “more cheerful, carefree side.”
Lopez describes the drink as an “easy” alcoholic drink, and was ready to enjoy “right out of the bottle.” She also promoted the brand on her Instagram by sharing a short video describing the drink as “unique, mixology-level ready to enjoy spritzes.”
In an interview with People, the Marry Me star also talked about the inspiration behind the bottle design. She shared that the design is inspired by the Bronx crest and the zodiac sign of her husband, Ben Affleck. “On the actual bottle, I put two lions. Ben and I are both Leos, like a male and a female lion,” she said.
However, people were disappointed in the singer for launching an alcohol brand despite speaking against drinking in the past. And confused fans called her out on social media for backtracking on her own words.
Jennifer Lopez Called Out For Launching Alcohol Brand
Jennifer Lopez shared a promotional video for the newly launched brand Delola on Instagram, leading fans to share their disappointment and confusion over her new brand. Fans pointed out how she has been speaking out against drinking and smoking over the years, and they were surprised to see her listing the healthy ingredients she used in her alcohol.
People also claimed that her husband is trying to get sober and is recovering from his drinking addiction, and called the singer a “money grab” for launching the alcohol brand. The Shotgun Wedding star has not said anything about the backlash for her alcohol brand and is continuously promoting it. Followed by the official launch of Delola, Lopez posed on a box of Delola Spritzes while getting ready for her promotional road trip.
