Jennifer Lawrence is known for her down-to-earth persona and humorous personality. As a result, she has formed quite some friendships with her co-stars and co-workers. Every co-actor she has worked with has often remarked how kind and fun she is to work with.
Back when she was working on Apple TV’s Causeway, Jennifer Lawrence formed a good friendship with the Marvel star Brian Tyree Henry. Even after the movie, the two continue to be good friends.
Jennifer Lawrence And Brian Tyree Henry’s Special Bond
Jennifer Lawrence and The Eternal’s star Brian Tyree Henry met for the first time on the sets of Causeway. A movie based on a veteran navigating through her life after suffering a serious brain injury, it shows a special friendship between Lawrence’s and Henry’s characters.
The two, despite not having met before, struck up a very special bond that was reflected on-screen. Justin Polsky, producer and a close friend of Lawrence, once remarked,
“They had once-in-a-generation chemistry.”
Even Jennifer Lawrence remarked they became such good friends that they would even share chapstick. While Brian Tyree Henry mentioned in an interview when asked about their characters,
“Honestly, the chemistry between Jen and I was so instant that I don’t know if we wanted to let it go. Jen and I have an amazing codependency that just really resonated onscreen.”
Revealing how both would often hang together even after shots show the close bond the two actors formed on the set. When they had to stop shooting midway due to the pandemic Lawrence and Henry continued to meet up, trying to perfect their movie as best as they could.
The two actors share a friendship that is seldom seen in showbiz, and it would certainly be interesting to see them together again on-screen.
Causeway Was Jennifer Lawrence’s First As a Producer
Causeway is a psychological drama based on the experiences of an Afghanistan war veteran who struggles after suffering from a brain injury. After coming back she forms an unexpected close friendship with Brian Tyree Henry’s character. When she first heard about the project, she immediately jumped on the track, making Causeway her company Excellent Cadver’s first production.
“I was like, ‘We have to make this. Let’s make it now. At first, I didn’t know. I think I was just off-the-bat drawn to the rhythm………. I like a fast-paced Marvel movie as much as the next person. But I do miss the slow melody of a character-driven story.”
Causeway was appreciated and liked by Critics with Henry earning an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Not only did Lawrence do an outstanding job portraying the mental struggles of a war veteran, her first production venture too proved to be a successful one.
You can stream Causeway on Apple TV Plus.
