Jamie Foxx is not new to the Hollywood film industry as the actor has already bagged an Academy Award for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the 2004 film Ray. Since then, he has appeared in several great projects including his supervillain portrayal as Electro in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Given that his first appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was met with mixed responses, he tried his best to come up with the coolest modification for his character.

While working on the set of Jon Watts’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, he opened up about bowing down for Willem Dafoe who reprised his Norman Osborn/Green Goblin role. And the reason might surprise you!
Jamie Foxx Showing Ultimate Respect to Willem Dafoe
Willem Dafoe played the role of Norman Osborn, aka The Green Goblin in the 2002’s Spider-Man. For the unversed, Green Goblin is one of the formidable foes of Spider-Man so to have him in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home was a pleasant surprise for the fans. Not just fans, but his film co-stars were also happy to work alongside a legendary star, especially Jamie Foxx.
The 55-year-old actor, in an interview with Marvel, opened up about working alongside him and Alfred Molina who played Otto Octavius / Doctor Octopus in the franchise.
“Just the most incredible people. When people have this sheer talent, like there’s no doubt about it, they’re just cooler.”
Mentioning the former, he shared,
“Mr. Dafoe — as I would call him — every time I walked onto set, I would bow seven times [at him]. I said, ‘I’m going to bow seven times because I’ve been watching [your movies] for years and you’re just amazing.’”
It was admiration and deep respect for Dafoe that led Foxx to willingly bow in front of him.

Foxx further discussed The Last Temptation of Christ actor’s personality on the set and shared how he was a grounded person on set. His sense of humor especially made Foxx’s heart win.
“It was just so funny and when he wasn’t doing his thing, he was doing jokes and everything like that, which is usually what I do; he had me on the ground cracking up.”
He further stated,
“When you’re able to come together for something that’s fun, with people that you really admire and respect, that’s just the cherry on top.”
The ensemble cast in the 2021 film was one of the major factors that led to its success. It grossed over $1.9 billion worldwide setting several box office records. A sequel is currently in development meanwhile, Spider-Man: No Way Home is available on Starz.
