“While I’m sure DC views ‘Swamp Thing’ as a franchise, I would be viewing it as a very simple, clean, Gothic horror movie about this man/monster. I have been toying for years with the idea of making a kind of Frankenstein movie.”

During an interview with Collider, James Mangold confirmed that he would be writing Swamp Thing and James Gunn followed up the statement adding that he would be directing it too. The director has put a bit of emphasis on how the MCU is bringing back Hugh Jackman’s Logan in 2024 alongside Deadpool even after he was given a proper ending and claims that DCU’s Swamp Thing will be such a movie that it will definitely top his MCU creation, Wolverine. Furthermore, it is to be noted down that the filmmaker is a very big fan of Swamp Thing and Mangold will literally go above and beyond for its success.

What More To Expect From James Gunn’s Gods and Monsters

Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters is the result of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s hard work for the past couple of months and so far the details surrounding the situation have not disappointed anyone. Chapter 1 mainly focuses on exposing the underdog superheroes and supervillains to the world, presenting them to the spotlight instead of running with the already established ones. For the past decade, the superhero franchise spotlight has always gone to MCU but currently, things might change when Gods and Monsters will be brought into play.
