James Gunn gave his debut in the MCU with a banger of a movie Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). The movie had action, drama, and a hearty amount of comedy. After taking charge of the comedic part for the Guardians in the MCU, James Gunn is having regrets about making that one joke that has bored him endlessly.
The joke, made by Drax, was aided further by John Cena which added more trouble to the director’s humor.
James Gunn And Drax’s Invisible Joke
Although the joke wasn’t part of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, the vastness of the Marvel Cinematic Universe had the director taking control of the rag-tag team in Avengers: Infinity War (2018).

During one of the famous conversations, Drax states that he has mastered the ability to stand so perfectly still that he becomes near invisible to the eye (which sadly didn’t work). The fans have been repeating the same joke with the director ever since it became famous which hasn’t bode well with James Gunn.
Adding fuel to the fire, John Cena is known for his famous tagline “You can’t see me” which people have been making memes for years. James Gunn worked with John Cena on the sets of Suicide Squad (2021) in which John Cena played the character of Peacemaker. The jokes have been incessant at this point for the director so much so that he is having regrets over making it in the first place.

Drax, played by Dave Bautista, is one of the fan favorites that people adore too much. He will be seen starring alongside once again with Peter Quill and the team of Guardians when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 gets released.

In an interview, James Gunn reportedly wanted to end the franchise as he was tired of it. The only reason he came back was to tell the backstory of Bradley Cooper voiced Rocket Raccoon. According to him, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 will have a hell of waterworks in the end as the back story of Rocket is revealed.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 will mark the end of James Gunn’s tenure with the rag-tag team as the director has announced. This will be the last Guardians movie of the MCU directed by James Gunn who will later move on to further projects.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 is slated for a release date of 5th May 2023 in theaters across the globe.
