James Gunn On Tom King
Tom King has been receiving overwhelming public attention after the recent announcement made by Gunn. King’s recent comic book line Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow was highly appreciated by the fans and as per the announcement, the upcoming movie of Supergirl will closely follow King’s storyline. James Gunn shared his views on Tom King and his excellent Supergirl story as he made the most awaited announcement.
“This is based on Tom King (and Bilquis Evely) ‘s wonderful comic. Tom has been one of the architects of this entire situation. He’s been one of the guys in the room with us, along with four or five other writers. I love his take on these characters. He just turns them slightly to be something very unique. We have Tom King. He has been my partner throughout all of this. He was giving me answers to sh*t before I took the job.”
Well, this is one of the several instances where the DC co-CEO spoke highly about King’s creativity and writing. James Gunn has also publicly appreciated Tom King’s Supergirl storyline.
“In our story, we have Superman who was sent to Earth and raised by incredibly loving parents. Kara was on Krypton. She was on a piece of Krypton that drifted away from the planet, and she lived there for the first fourteen years of her life in a horrible situation where she watched everyone around her die. So, she’s a much harsher and more f*cked up Supergirl than you’ve been used to thus far.”
Tom King’s Controversial Tweet
It appears that the attention and appreciation for his work has filled King with pride. Tom King took to his Twitter to announce that his storyline will revive the DC soon. His words sparked public criticism. King believed that his entry into the upcoming DCU will give the very required boost to the drowning DCU. Yet it appears like the public was in no mood to accept any false promises of revolution as they were already fed up with such claims made in the past by several renowned personalities.
Fans were excited to see the new Supergirl portrayal by Sasha Calle in the upcoming movie, The Flash. Calle’s depiction of Supergirl was highly appreciated by the fans. Fans were eagerly waiting to see her justify the undermined character in the coming time with King’s successful storyline, but it appears like the fans are now hugely disappointed by the tweet of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow writer.
Fans can see Sasha Calle’s depiction of Supergirl in The Flash, which is scheduled to be released on June 16, 2023.
