Last year James Gunn took over the DC Studios as the co-CEO with producer Peter Safran. Gunn is known for introducing the Guardians in the MCU, and there have been rumors that the Guardians of the Galaxy stars could follow up the director in DCU as well. Although nothing has been confirmed yet, fans believe that Gunn could bring in the Marvel actors to the DC Studios after his last venture in the MCU.

James Gunn Has a Role For Chris Pratt in Superman: Legacy

Dwayne Johnson had some huge plans for the future of the DCU, and he featured back-to-back in two DC films, DC League of Super-Pets and Black Adam. He voiced Superman’s pet dog, Krypto, aka Bark Kent. And after putting a full stop to his future as Black Adam, James Gunn seems to be taking away the Krypto part from Johnson as well.

During a recent interview with The Toronto Sun, James Gunn and Chris Pratt discussed how they would stay in touch after Gunn’s final Marvel film. The Passengers star shared that both of them would be busy with work, but they’ll make sure to spare some time and talk to each other.

James Gunn, however, had something interesting to offer as he said, “I was hoping I could cast you as Krypto the Superdog (in Superman Legacy).” He added that Pratt would have to walk on his hands and knees so that they could do motion capture, and he would not talk throughout the film. Considering the offer Gunn made to him, Pratt mentioned how the director revealed what could be a major spoiler about the film.

“It sounds like there’s going to be a character called Krypto in Superman,” he said. The Super director also admitted to his claim, saying, “It is a scoop, I guess.” Although it could be a major spoiler for Superman: Legacy, Krypto is not the only role Gunn thinks would suit Chris Pratt.

James Gunn Believes Chris Pratt Would Be a Good Batman

While promoting Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3. James Gunn and Chris Pratt discussed working together in DCU. When Pratt was asked if there is any DC character he plans to play, Gunn answered for him as he said, “Catwoman is not going to happen as much as he bugs me about it.”

Pratt argued that it would happen, and he even has a “leather mask” for it. When asked why he doesn’t want to play Batman, Pratt said, “It’s time to finally bring an actor with some gravity to it.” However, Gunn reassured him that he would also be a good Batman.

“You’d be a good Batman. That’s not a bad thing,” the DC Studios co-CEO said. While the conversation doesn’t seem to indicate anything, it’s enough for people to assume the best, as Chris Pratt said, “You heard it here, I am Batman.”

Guardians of the Galaxy is playing in theatres.

Superman: Legacy is set to release on 11 July 2025.
