James Gunn Teases Greatest Superman Story For DCU After Henry Cavill Exit: “I’ve read it many, many times”

James Gunn is currently working on his Bible that will contain the roadmap for DCEU for the coming 3-4 years. It will be following a game plan, bigger than any other that has been previously done. James Gunn recently shared a post on his social media handles, sipping on coffee and reading a Superman book, All-Star Superman.

While reading Grant Morrison’s All-Star Superman, Gunn did not comment on the book or the author or rather how influential this book will be, rather he said that he lost count of how many times he read it. The comic book is a 12-issue book that ran from 2005 to 2008.

A New Superman At Works

After James Gunn arrived in DC and took over its leadership, fan-favorite Henry Cavill’s Superman has been missed. But as Gunn is creating a new DCEU and has also started script writing for all of the characters. And back in December, James Gunn said that he was writing a new script for Superman. He also said that the upcoming Superman will follow the storyline of a younger Superman.

Though Cavill has been removed by James Gunn from his role as Superman, many rumors are going around suggesting Jacob Elordi will be the next caped hero. As still casting for Superman has not begun and will not start till Gunn’s script writing is finished. James Gunn recently commented,

“My thoughts are no one has been cast as Superman yet, casting, as is almost always the case with me, will happen after the script is finished or close to finished, and it isn’t. We’ll announce a few things in not too long, but the casting of Superman won’t be one of them.”

All-Star Superman is a 12-issue comic book by DC that featured Superman and his heroic works. The series ran between 2005 and 2008 and concentrates on the plot of Superman when he was dying due to his overexposure to the Sun. The 12 issue shows Superman’s 12 labors for humanity and how he saved this world multiple times from various threats. The series shows how he makes peace with the world and his life and comes to love everything.

What Happened to Henry Cavill’s Superman

James Gunn and Peter Safran are leaving behind Zack Snyder’s Justice League and also canceled Henry Cavill’s Superman because he was the central figure of Snyder’s Justice League. And in order to create a successful and new DC universe, they had to take serious measures. DC has been in a continuous roll of creating many unsuccessful movies.

The recent DC movie Black Adam also failed at the box office. It showed much promise rumoring about Cavill’s return after 5 years. But it also failed to go through as Black Adam had gathered a total of less than $400 million at the box office worldwide.

Ever since Gunn and Safran took over DCEU to remodify it, many leaks and rumors have also started leaking. Though there is no information shared by both of them, there has been plenty of news about canceled movies and actors. Along with Cavill, Jason Momoa might not return for another Aquaman movie, and Wonder Woman 3 which was almost finished has been dumped.
