Collectively believed to be one of the biggest upsets for the fans of the old DCEU fans was the exclusion of Henry Cavill into the new DCU that is being developed by new DC Films CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. With the title of Superman stripped from Cavilll’s hands, it was something similar to stepping on a giant hill of ants, which came to bite Gunn in the form of severe backlash. In an article put out by CosmicBook, it was reported that a rumor was going around about how The Suicide Squad director was in talks with Cavill for playing a role other than Superman in the new DCU, which was also speculated to be related to Frankenstein from the proposed Creature Commandos animated series in the upcoming line of projects in the franchise. This is further substantiated by the fact that Jason Momoa has already confirmed his departure as Aquaman to play Lobo in the new DCU, which might suggest this is a similar instance.

Further, seeing that the animated series will be connected to the live-action series titled Waller, the voice actors who play the roles of the characters from the animated series will be the ones that will become those characters in the live-action series as well, meaning that we will physically see the Mission: Impossible star making his appearance as a new face in a new franchise in with a new character from DC Comics.
