With numerous changes and several recasts and removals, James Gunn established the DCU. Ezra Miller, the infamous actor known for wreaking havoc through small disruptions in public remained as the Flash in the newly made DCU. Calling James Gunn on his hypocrisy, fans took to Twitter and asked the question to the co-head of DC about other actors.

James Gunn Will Not Remove Ezra Miller From His DCU

Before the official lineup for the DCU was revealed, the talk of a reboot of the universe was rumored to happen. James Gunn did remove any speck of the Snyderverse by removing Henry Cavill from the DCU. In the process, Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck also allegedly left the franchise or were rumored to be recast for further DCU projects.

The two constants that did not change or depart from the franchise are Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and Ezra Miller’s Flash. Momoa, known for being a gentleman to everyone got praise and love from the people when Aquaman 3 was recently announced. Ezra Miller, on the other hand, did not get the same reception.

According to reports, James Gunn will not remove Ezra Miller from the DCU and eagerly awaits the release of their upcoming movie The Flash. Fans were clearly not happy with the blatant hypocrisy as they took to Twitter to give kind replies to the director and the actor in question.

For those that are unversed, Ezra Miller has found themselves in multiple controversies over the years. From allegedly handling a cult in Iceland to stealing alcohol from a house in Virginia, the actor has been prone to causing various disruptions in public. They were recently told to apologize for their past behavior and since then, Ezra Miller has been hiding low with no further chaos to their name. The reports do not cite the reason for the continuation of Ezra Miller…maybe James Gunn really really liked the new upcoming Flash movie!

Talking about the recovery of Ezra Miller, the co-head of DC Studios Peter Safran positively praised the actor for taking steps for their mental health. Ezra Miller is being treated for an undiagnosed mental health condition but seems to be progressing quite quickly.

“Ezra is completely committed to their recovery. And we are fully supportive of that journey that they’re on right now. When the time is right, when they feel like they’re ready to have the discussion, we’ll all figure out what the best path forward is. But right now, they are completely focused on their recovery. And in our conversations with them over the last couple of months, it feels like they’re making enormous progress.”

James Gunn chimed in with a quick statement regarding the actor’s upcoming movie which has been the cause of excitement and outrage among the people.

“I will say here that ‘Flash’ is probably one of the greatest superhero movies ever made,”

With a release date set for 16th June 2023 in theaters across the U.S., DC’s The Flash will certainly be one of the controversial movies of the year 2023.
