Jackie Chan is a legendary figure in the entertainment industry, known for his incredible martial arts skills and remarkable stunts in films. Chan has starred in several films across his decades-long career. Chan is well known for his charismatic personality, dedication, and hard work. The Rush Hour star has become one of the most beloved actors of all time. Chan has been seen on-screen with several other prominent action stars including Jet Li, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and much more. But sadly a scene between Chan and Sylvester Stallone has not yet been presented to the audience. The New Police Story star revealed that he turned down four opportunities to work with the Rocky star.
Jackie Chan On Turning Down Offers To Work With Sylvester Stallone
According to Chan’s autobiography, Never Grow Up, he refused Stallone’s offer to play a villain in Demolition Man and a drug dealer in the fourth Rambo movie, stating that it didn’t feel right for him as these roles don’t align with his past work, and may taint his image of being a rightful action hero. Stallone also wanted Chan to appear in both The Expendables 2 and 3, but scheduling conflicts and the fear of a small role prevented him from accepting the offers.

The Crime Story star revealed that he has been approached for The Expendables 4, similarly to its last two predecessors, but he again refused to work as The Tuxedo star wishes to share Stallone alone. The Expendables franchise is known for its big celebrity star cast, and it looks like Jackie Chan is in no mood to be a part of all this, fearing his character’s role. The Chinese Zodiac star also revealed that he wanted to work with the Rambo star in a proper project where he gets a decent amount of screen time along with Sylvester Stallone.
“…this morning I did hear – the office called – Sly [Stallone] wants me for Expendables 4. I said, ‘Okay.’ Because they already asked me to be in two and three, but I refused. Well, I didn’t refuse, but I said, ‘Sly, can’t we just do you and me? Not just a bunch of people and me only coming out for five minutes.’ Because then the audience is, ‘Oh!’ And then I’m gone.”
While Stallone and Chan were supposed to work on a film together called Snafu, the COVID-19 pandemic led to the Creed star’s exit, and John Cena ultimately grabbed Stallone’s role. However, Chan has made it clear that he does have an interest in working with Stallone if he ever encountered a decent opportunity.
