J.K. Simmons Loves his character J. Jonah Jameson

The Academy Award winner made his debut back in 1986 and is well known for the versatility of his characters. Despite featuring in more than 200 films and TV roles, the Whiplash actor is still fond of his Marvel Character J. Jonah Jameson. In an interview, Simmons opened up about the love of his character.

“It’s obviously a huge blessing and particularly that character, you know, I’d show up for – depending on the film, three days, maybe a couple of weeks – and pepper in my comic relief thing, which we had such a great time within Sam’s original trilogy. He always gave us the latitude to improvise and play around and have fun. And when I wasn’t in the middle installment, Andrew Garfield, it never occurred to me that they would call and ask for J. Jonah Jameson to come back and when they did, I was so excited and met Jon and the creative team. It’s big fun. I feel like I get all of the fun for about one percent of the work that everybody else is putting in on those movies. I think I’m going to be in more. So, fingers crossed.”
